best thing about last night was getting to roar “HI [BONES’ MOM]” in a terrible voice over videochat and Bones’ mom casually-warmly greeting me the same way she has done forever.
I watched Big Eden again, this time with Bones, and it is still so good. this time what jumped out at me was the songs—incredible choices, every time. really, really good.
nothing can compare to all the beautiful surprises of the first time I watched it but oh man, this is such a watcher-friendly movie. still one of the best romances ever ever ever and we deserve more like it.
Bones and her husband finally watched Andor and so tonight we got to yell about it for half an hour!!!
she said, “it did the thing that I’m very annoyed the Star Wars movies don’t do! people say oh Lucas is so good at worldbuilding—no he’s not! you never see the actual cultures or government stuff on the planets!”
then after our usual thing her husband came on and all three of us yelled about Abbott Elementary for a while!
Dropped Bones off last night, after spending two days together, not to see her again for probably another year. And, having packed up the cat, am now driving back home. Classes start next week but work started this morning at like 4:30, so, gravymas is over. Here we go.
Real quick:
Into the Woods was definitely a movie.
I miss Bones a lot, and I’m maybe finally okay with the fact that we’re both different people than we used to be. Again. (Thinking about it now, I think I’ve had to suffer through, recognize, and work through it four times now in the twenty-some years we’ve been close, and it’s probably not the last time, either)
It’s surprising how I feel a lot better with a stomach full of diner food and the sugary variety of caffeine.
Still coughing, still slightly sinusy.
Aw, thanks tumblr mobile app, for eating my post while I went to check a tag. It was a good post, too. Well, fx, I'm going to bed and maybe writing it again in the morning. (We're back)
This year's second late-as-fuck trip to the airport! It's midnight and Bones is trapped at the closest airport with no family and no keys to the family home (they are all back in the city of origin, where her extended family had gathered for holidays) so here I come to save the day!
