In Your Dreams {KJW & LDH}
Starting a new school was usually both nerve-wracking and exciting to new students, but for Dohyeong he was mostly looking forward to being out on his own. He could finally do what he wanted without having to worry about what his mother was, or wasn’t, doing. He’d already got settled into his dorm room the day before, but the rest of his things were finally arriving that afternoon.
Although it wasn’t sweltering hot out, Dohyeong shielded himself from the sun’s rays with a light pink, flowered parasol. His foot tapped the pavement in annoyance as he waited for the delivery. They were late and although he didn’t really have any immediate plans that were being held up, Dohyeong hated to be kept waiting. Sure it was slightly hypocritical since Dohyeong was always ‘fashionably late’ himself whenever he had plans, but as far as he was concerned this was different. When the taxi finally pulled up, Dohyeong’s lips were fixed in a frustrated scowl. “You’re late,” he spat, his anger growing when the taxi driver seemed to ignore his statement.
He watched as the older man set his bags down one by one. Dohyeong casually glanced down at his nails and then back up, just in time to see the driver starting back toward his door. “What are you doing?” he exclaimed, starting at the driver expectantly.
“The fare was already paid so you don’t owe me anything,” he driver explained as he opened his door. “That’s not what I was talking about! You can’t just leave these here. What am I supposed to do with them?” Dohyeong scolded, finding himself shocked as the driver just got into his car and closed the door. Dohyeong approached the passenger side window and banged on it sharply. “Hey! Are you listening to me?!” he snapped, quickly needing to scramble back to the sidewalk as the taxi started moving.
Dohyeong stood at the school entrance, jaw dropped as the car sped off. He couldn’t believe that he was stuck with all his own luggage to drag up to his room. There was no way he wanted to haul all those bags across campus! Dohyeong turned back toward the school, trying to figure out how he was going to maneuver everything when he spotted another male student walking nearby. “Ah, excuse me…?” Dohyeong called out, his expression suddenly turning pitiful and helpless as the other student looked his way. Dohyeong continued his manipulation, giving a soft sniffle and averting his eyes as though he was embarrassed.
“The…the taxi driver just left me here…I don’t think I can carry all this by myself…” he explained, reaching for one of the bags and trying to lift it. He barely brought it up off the ground before he stumbled a little despite the fact it wasn’t excessively heavy. “Oh, I’m sorry…I shouldn’t bother you…I’m sure I can manage it…” he insisted in a very unconvincing tone, hiding a cocky smirk as the younger male approached him. Dohyeong faked awe as the boy easily lifted up all his luggage like he was more than happy to show off how strong he was even if he did seem a bit overwhelmed by all of it.
“You’ll really help me? You don’t mind?” Dohyeong asked, using a bit of aegyo just to seal the deal until the other student eagerly agreed. After explaining which dorm he was in, Dohyeong led the way with the boy trailing just a few steps behind him. No longer did he look like the pitiful helpless student. His expression had turned a bit colder as he’d now found himself a momentary servant to fulfill his needs. As they walked across the campus, Dohyeong gave his parasol a little spin, casting a quick glance back every now and then to make sure that his luggage was indeed still following behind him.
