Agent PSY4 quietly chuckles to themselves while swatting away Dedenne from Mohn’s rainbow bean-iced cupcakes.

“Well, I guess we should start running our scans then.”

“Before we get further into this, I actually have a question I forgot to ask before, Wicke.”

“Sure, what is it?”

“Moon would bring me her own books for a time there and it dawned on me that her travel magazine had an article in it talking about Aether Foundation hosting tours…? You never mentioned that before.”

“Oh… yes… that’s correct.”

“Wait what’s wrong with tours?”

*suspiciously looks at Psy and just giggles* 눈//u//눈

“(Hey don’t be such a creep! It…It is very distracting.)”

“Agent PSY4, we’ll probably be discussing some part of Straos4 and Foresight later, so if you want to cool off and take Dedenne back, we can handle any electrical concerns ourselves with the boat’s generator.”

“I am fine, honest. I would have to watch your testing from the Aquarius anyway so you aren’t permitted to break security clearance even if I leave.”

“What are you going to do to stop us? It’s not our fault you’re eavesdropping on behalf of the police.”

“You both signed a confidentiality agreement. Don’t break it.”

“Well I didn’t sign an agreement to get isolated on a couple islands and shielded from the rest of the world… I get it’s your job, Cipher, but I don’t see how that matters anymore, or what further action the police would even take against me. They could just as easily give you clearance and call it a day.”

“You are insufferable sometimes, Mohn.”

Psy4, you doing all right there? You seem a little nervous, is all.

“I’m fine, thank you.”

“They’re right though, you seem a little flushed.”

“Wait, you’re not sick right? Will I have to- drag you out of the sand into the submarine, keep you trapped there and then insist you don’t look at or touch anything?”

“…You say I need to chill but do you let anything go?”

“Not nearly as much as I should, probably.”

“…actually, are you talking about having visitors? No, we’ve lifted a lot of his restrictions now that we’re more confident in his identity.”

“Before we get into the science, I wanted to give you your birthday gift!”

“…Birthday gift?”

“Did you forget today is your birthday?”

“Oh no, I don’t have a calendar… though I guess I could have figured that out from my phone too-”

“Oh!! This is so nice, thank you, Wicke!”

[ Of course, I’ve been keeping an eye on Faba for years. It’ll be easy with Professor Mohn and Master Gladion both supporting oversight, too. ]

“(H-Hey I don’t need that kind of protecting! I can take the heat from any scientist, I promise! Uh… at least I used to be able to…?)”

[ We’ll be by tomorrow with equipment. ]

“Oh, Wicke! Do you think my remote location at Poke Pelago could reach Aether Paradise’s network? There’s a lot I’d like to review in my spare time, if I could… That is, assuming I can still login.”

[ We’ve updated servers since you’ve been gone but Lusamine made sure your credentials were carried over with security updates.  I’ll bring a laptop along and we can see about that too! ]

Um, Mohn? Maybe you've got enough on your mind right now, but I don't think you should trust Faba. He was involved in Type: Null's creation and subsequent torture, and he said some unpleasant things to Gladion when he was trying to find Lillie with Moon and Hau. I mean, he very well may have turned over a new leaf, but I think you should keep an eye on him anyways.

“Thank you, Wicke was… very thorough. I’m aware.”

“I hope he appreciates this chance Gladion gave him to act better. Because if it were me, I would have made sure he was fired…”

[ Hm… I also find Master Gladion’s ‘second chance’ rather curious, but I think it’s part and parcel to focusing on monitoring behavior within the organization itself. Faba’s outlandish ego is easy to bruise but it wouldn’t stand to be completely brought down. Not without perhaps enabling him to do something… or give assistance to something even more sinister. ]

“I see. Gladion’s hedging off acting the catalyst to Faba joining a scientific endeavor without boundaries. Plus… in keeping him in Aether, he can still control Faba within reason by giving him incentive to work for his good grace and make Faba lead any rogue employees by example.”

“M-My little boy is such an astute president already… Lusamine would be so proud…”

Does this mean that Faller aura might wear off? It gives my Lucario a headache when I mention it to her

[ Unfortunately, a lot of your research into the Infinity Emanation was lost, Professor. My role in Foresight was limited to monitoring and recording Ultra Beast data, so I can’t even speak for the extent of what that set back has meant. ]

“Well… I guess I’ll keep hoping I remember more then.”

“I’m sure we’ll pick up from there. Whether it leads to getting me out of this island restriction or not, I’ll trust your instincts on this study, Wicke.”

[ I uh, did mention Faba is co-opting with this right…? ]
