I deecreed today corporate day so I am also announcing that RATP has released the newest (badass) version of its iPhone app. It seems to be free, although I don't expect this to last long. Kickass new features:
Uses Parisine (Office?) as in-app font
Allows you to touch a particular metro station on the classic metro map and pulls up a contextual menu [Leave from here/ get there/ District Map]
Even the logo is badass, cleaner in a web 2.0 way
Allows you to put a metro station's location on a google map meaning you know where it's at, what street corner it stands on (under) etc...
More info about traffic (constructions, STRIKES, et al.) you know this is important
Things that don't change:
The database that feeds the app is still the same
It constructs your itinary but STILL doesn't tell you which one of the thousands of the station exit is the best for you to reach your location. I actually asked around for this particular feature since it annoyed the fuck out of me and it appears we don't actually have those information correlated...
And of course, still doesn't allow you to buy tickets, still doesn't serve as a metro pass, still doesn't tell you which car are the annoying street performers are ambushing while you are on the phone, etc...
