Did you hear that Fable Studios, an AI start up, is launching Showrunner, an app that provides AI generated animated series on demand and lets audiences mess around with their content? Thoughts on how awful that idea could be? https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/business-news/fables-streamer-ai-generated-content-showcases-hollywood-fear-around-tech-1235911861/
I had heard of this, and this idea is just hilariously bad. Most attempts at AI tv i've heard of have been laughably bad, so just on a conceptual level this dosen't work.. but then you ad the fact than rather than try to say clone a succesful show like south park, their cloning their own half assed ripoffs no one with a sag membership would dare touch after the strike.
Speaking of which it takes some hubris to try an do an AI generated streaming service the YEAR after a strike hollywood's still recovering from that was focused around streaming pay and AI Protections, both of which were in part to stop this exact scenario when it's actually viable. Trying to do it both when it's proven impossible and makes you look like the most tonedeaf asshole alive can't possibly work. It MIGHT if only because dumber things HAVE happened, but when your relying on pure dumb luck for your streaming service to work maybe go with something else.
