I picked up some #fabric today, and I hope I can make some clothes for Diana with it. Because she really needs clothes, there's very little I can buy for her, because she is that tiny bit bigger than Minifee, and doesn't have magnetic hands too! But I think these #fabrics are really cute, and I'm in love with the #japanese style ones! I’ll have to trial a few fabrics to get the beaded overlay of the Titanic dinner dress right. This is illusion mesh, which is often used as a base fabric for beading. It’s quite strong and impossibly fine - it kind of feels like ghost fabric, honestly! 👻 There’s just nothing to it, lighter than air. Weird but very cool. This might work, if I double it up for more strength and opacity, but I’m starting to think silk organza might be the way to go. Total score!!!! Bag of random fabric from a work mate. You know what I mean when I say that, when you tell people you sew they either want to give you fabric or hem their trousers 😂😫. Sometimes you receive stuff you don't really want but you Smile and say thankyou anyway😉. Well, last night I received a big bag of unwanted fabric from someone at work who is having a clear out, and inside is some crap, obviously, but also some amazing wool and cashmere (about 2.5m) and some tana lawn type William Morris style (2m) fabric. Also some odds and ends of Laura Ashley curtain cut offs, and some red velvet!!!! Oh myyy gooosh you guuuuis! Look at this amazing box of awesomeness that just arrived on my doorstep! It’s huge and HEAVY and packed full of amazing fabrics, I’m flipping out here! I went a bit #madforplaid when I was in the States last week! The first two are cotton flannels for pyjamas from @joann_stores (Joann blew my mind, it’s so enormous!). The third is a silk taffeta from @ragtimefabrics in Harrisonburg, VA (I could have stayed there all day - great selection!).
