2009 Fender American Standard Stratocaster FSR (Factory Special Run) in fiesta red with matching headstock.
I am overjoyed with the new Lollar pickups I installed in this fiesta red FSR 2009 Fender American Std. Telecaster. I always "liked" the guitar...but now I LOVE the guitar.
2009 Fender American Standard Stratocaster, FSR, Fiesta Red with matching headstock.
Fiesta. Forever.
Come on and sing along.
I thought you people deserved (a very short) break from SG-O-Rama this blog has become.
So: here are my matching 2009 American Standard Strat & Tele FSRs (Factory Special Runs) in Fiesta Red with matching headstocks.
They were bought in two different cities, 1.5 years apart (I bought the Tele at The 12th Fret Toronto in May 2011, and I bought the Strat at Mountain Music in Hamilton (about 60 KM West of Toronto) in November 2012), but they are obviously twins. Fraternal twins of course... :D
At the Long and McQuade Toronto store (Bloor Street), last night. The conversation went like this:
Me: Whoa...what is that???
Rick: A Stratocaster?
Me (deadpan): Thanks Rick. Thanks very much. It must be an FSR...but it's like nothing I have ever seen before!
Rick: Is that a 1-piece rosewood neck?!? (reads tag) Noooooo...it's a 1 piece WALNUT neck!
Me: Walnut? I have never seen that before! Wow...the body looks burnt! But in a good way....
Rick: I'm going to play it!
Me: I'm going to take pictures of it while you play it!
Rick: It's light...7 lbs...7.2 maybe?
Me: Keep talking...
Rick: The strings are all grungy and out of tune.
Me: Welcome to Long and McQuade!
Rick: Sounds good though!
Me: It photographs good too!
Rick: I appreciate the existential irony that the neck is walnut and the skunk stripe is maple! A complete reversal of the status quo Fender neck!
Me: Exi-wha now?
PS: Can't find any evidence of this one on the webs yet...but the tag said it was a "burned" something or other... I wonder how many of them were made. Not many I'll bet...
