Also! I am SO mad because this used to be a bigger image, he had a full body (was kneeling) but I realised that would have made the emoji super tiny so I cropped it in iArtbook not realising that it would then reset the time-lapse to the point where I cropped it (as it saves as a separate file which I deleted). But! I’m gonna share what it caught because it just makes me laugh, it’s so chaotic because of me flip-flopping my canvas. The peach is wiggling looool 🤣 SOLAS IS AT A PEACH RAVE AAAHHHH

Aahhh I’m scared! I’ve never really done darker, more “symbolic” pieces before but it was fun to try something new. I tried to be a little bit more “flowy” with the paint strokes? Is that the right term loool I know fuck all about art, I just like smushing colours together until it resembles something 😆 I got the full time-lapse too since I tried not to spend an age “perfecting” it so the file size is small enough! I’m trying to let go of that side of me or at least loosen its grip. I’m also getting a tablet soon!! So can do even better things (I use my phone atm).

The future Herald of Andraste, Dah’lia Fenwyn Lavellan 🗡️

After learning about flipping the canvas, I reworked this, and I’m happy with how it turned out (finally). Chants to self, “It’s not perfect, but that's ok”. I redid her vallaslin and made it a little better, and I’ve settled on the colour now. I still made it up for the most part lol, looking at the ref gave me a headache. Kinda been a lifeline working on this this week, having something to focus on that isn't my shitty thoughts.

Something my brain likes to keep telling me atm is that I’m annoying, so if you don't want to see my attempts at art, you can block #fadebound art. I would like to share timelapses as well, and I’ll tag them the same 💖

Edit!! I finally got myself an iPad with a ton more storage so I can finally upload the time-lapse for this one! It’s a little embarrassing because (as I said above) until about half-way through, I had NO IDEA that flipping the canvas was a thing and let me tell you I was traumatised by how it looked when I first thought I’d finished it 😆 but I’m so glad I found out about it - it was a painful yet valuable lesson!! I learned a lot and feel like it has helped me improve so much as an artist since!! Also, I did trace my pencil sketch of her at the beginning but it was wonky af lol so I started from scratch in the end (my confidence in sketching digitally has improved a lot over the past few weeks!) 🥳

I can share now! Fade Prison reached 100 members (or vhenans) so I did a little something to celebrate the milestone! This is the first piece of digital art I’ve finished in yeeears. I pushed myself since the server means a lot to me and is full of the most beautiful, kind, and passionate people. There's 100 hearts in the background as well to represent each of them ♥️

I was just going to let these 30-min sketches rot lol but decided to share them on here since they're the last of the prompts I did before stepping down as mod and leaving Fade Prison (for personal reasons, the server is AMAZING and will always have a special place in my heart 💖).

I sorta managed with the first one (although spent far too long drawing a stupid skull which I ditched and gave myself the time back, I’ll be honest), but the second one kicked my arse SO hard for whatever reason and I ran out of time, so you’re required to fill in the blanks (I did leave very helpful notes though loooool).

Freedom

My 30-min art challenge for the prompt “Freedom” from Fade Prison! Dah’lia now finally vallaslin free (she kept it in DAI), and she would def ask Solas for Fade wings lol

My time-lapses seem to be working again!! 🥳 Only for new stuff, whatever fucked up in the app has corrupted my old artwork, but thankfully I got time-lapses for most of them, bar 2 and a couple I started a while ago but haven’t finished yet, but I’ll take it!

Do NOT look at her stupid face at the beginning 😂 I get panicky with these timed challenges and wanted to get feature placement down roughly before I went back and made it better, and the proportions are ASS at first (and a lil at the end too ngl loool) because I have to zoom in a bunch and then when I zoom out I’m like YIKES 😆 I didn't have time to give her toes so just imagine her lil tootsies and she's also much bigger than this in my head (I’ve not really practised drawing her whole body properly). Also, her hair is a lot longer, but again…not enough time!
