❛ don’t be stupid, adam. ❜ this was an unnecessary request, considering blue had learned that adam parrish spent a great deal of time being anything but stupid. it seemed that while school might not have come as easily to him as it did to gansey, he certainly didn’t disregard it in the way that ronan did, and at least the way she heard it, he made the most of every moment spent at aglionby academy. and while that spoke more to study habits and book smarts, he’d shown his aptitude for other things, as well. where gansey approached everything as a puzzle that needed to be solved, and ronan approached things as obstacles he could probably plow through like the force of nature he was, adam tried his best to look at things practically, and while she’d seen glimpses of his temper, and frustration, and every once in a while an immature comment then seemed out of character, blue would have never considered him stupid.
❛ i’m not giving up, i just mean to say that it’s not like i had a normal childhood with normal parents and did normal things like a normal kid. ❜ she shrugged, peering down at her tea and feeling dubious about its claimed mind-clearing properties. it wasn’t that she didn’t understand the appeal in normal teen activities, it was just that she didn’t care about them like a normal teenage girl was supposed to. somehow she figured adam understood that. ❛ this is exactly what i want to be doing with my free time. ❜
