transcendence
By now Caro was well accustomed to travel between the realm of the fae and the mortal world. Stepping out into the early dawn light, she raised a hand to fluff her soft brown hair and cast her eyes around looking for a clue. Her powers were muted somewhat in the mortal world, but still present, and she knew what she was about.
Apparently a rogue fae had disappeared from the Seelie Court some time ago (time was weird to Caro, who felt neither the prick or pull of it). The Queen had wanted the rogue brought to justice for stealing something or the other (she was nonspecific as to what precisely was stolen). It should have been a fairly easy retrieval, save the muddying about that the rogue had managed.
There was a spell that required mortal blood to work, and thus was forbidden of the Seelie fae; with a bit of mortal blood, a fae could mask their essence from others of their kind. This rogue had done that. They'd determined that the fae was somewhere in Wales, in the mortal kingdom of Great Britain, but beyond that... it was impossible to discover precisely where she was.
Now the muddying spell was gone, which meant the rogue was dead. However, the mystery wasn't over yet. Two faint fae prescences had been sensed in Wales now... not the strength of a pureblood, but too strong to fully ignore. Thus was Caro present and padding her way towards them.
Her fingers itched to play the violin that she had strapped to her back. It was glamored as not to be noticeable by mortals, but her magic was the strongest when she drew bow across the strings, and it would have made finding these two that much easier.
Hands upon hips, she studied buildings as she walked. This Cardiff place was a lot larger than she'd anticipated.
