Hello Faeda 🤍 Why did you decide to study forensics and biomedical science?

Honestly it wasn’t my first choice! These were some of my other choices + why I didn’t follow through with them:

- special effects (sfx) makeup artist (I loved cosplay and even had my own makeup account where I posted slightly gorey makeup, but didn’t go through with it because I couldn’t find any specific courses for them)

- video game development (I couldn’t see it as a long term career, but I do still have two WIPs I wanna complete at some point)

- biomedical engineering (creating medical equipment to help make other people’s lives easier was why I wanted to do this, but I didn’t think I was smart enough to get into the course + the course requirements were beyond my skill level and scared me into not doing it)

- writer (I still write on the side but I’m not 100% serious about it as a career)

I mainly went into forensics because I want to be a medical examiner / forensic pathologist, and I did biomedical science because I originally wanted to do biomedical engineering (as I mentioned) but I didn’t think I was smart enough for it.

what app do you use for your digital notes? they look really nice!

I use goodnotes 6!

It’s such a good app (also i prefer it over other apps because the notebooks have proper pages rather than being an endless page) but you can only make 3 notebooks before you have to pay for the full version :/

hey im facing a prob while studying

i will get in my flow to study and then from somewhere ill get sleepy..sleepy enough to not be able to study but not being able to sleep at the same time and in the end ur not studying nor sleeping but just wasting ur time like?? this is confusing lol but idk how to deal w it

I genuinely don’t know what it is. I’ll be in the mood to study but as soon as I start or somewhere down the line I’ll just get sleepy (then I as soon as I stop I’m no longer tired?).

I’m not a medical professional but I feel like it has something to do with boredom because whenever I’m doing a boring task I get sleepy, but then can’t fall asleep if I stop.

If anyone has advice please feel free to share :)

i was just wondering how you stay on top of your study when you're sick? i have a cold at the moment i can't shake, which is not allowing me to go to school and i'm scared that i will fall behind on all of the work.

I can barely function when I’m sick and would rather use that time resting than stressing myself out with studying (although it has made me fall a bit behind), I try my best to do it in bits and pieces, like simple revision and going over some concepts without going into full blown study mode.

However If I do fall behind when I’m sick, the best I can do is just spend more time studying to catch up.

Why are you studying at two different places?? Isn't that stressful?

so it's kind of a funny story, but basically i'm studying at university for my dream job (medical examiner/forensic pathologist) and then i'm studying at tafe for two reasons:

1 - so i can get a decent paying temporary job because hospitality work doesn't cut it sadly :,( (sad because i lowkey loved my barista days, minus the karens)

2 - so i have something to fall back onto if i fail along the way or get bored of my current goal

the funny part is that I'm going to have to work in hospitality for the next 5 months until my tafe course finishes too. honestly i don't think i'm stressed, so far i've been keeping up with my work since university doesn't start until next week so hopefully things go smoothly
