Faeleth’s Grove — The Heart of the Forest
Not accessible by normal paths; the forest shifts & parts only when it allows entry.
Often described as feeling like the woods are holding their breath before revealing it.
Air is cooler, sweeter, heavy with rain-soaked earth, pine, & distant florals.
Time feels softer here: wounds ache less, emotions settle faster, exhaustion lifts.
The Guardian Tree (Center of the Grove):
Massive, ancient tree large enough to rival a small keep.
Acts as: Faeleth’s altar, Their throne, & The grove’s spiritual heartbeat
Bark subtly reflects the seasons:
Winter — pale, frost-veined, almost furred
Summer — warm-toned with glowing sap-like veins
Spring — faintly petaled, soft hues
Autumn — dark, burnished copper shades
Pools of spring water gather around its roots, glowing faintly like fallen stars.
Pools reflect no sky, only drifting lights (star-like motes).
Water reacts to Faeleth’s presence: ripples, brightens, grows warm or cool depending on its form.
Moss & flowers emit soft natural glow, never harsh, more like moonlight than fire.
Flora (Plants & Flowers):
Flowers that do not exist outside the grove:
Moon-blooming petals like spun glass
Bioluminescent blue & violet blossoms
Floating pollen drifts slowly through the air, giving the space a dreamlike haze.
Vines & roots form natural arches, steps, & bridges, shaped by centuries of magic.
Fauna (Creatures of the Grove):
Creatures are calm, not skittish:
Stags with flowering or moss-covered antlers
Birds that only sing when Faeleth is present
Small spirits that slip between bark, leaf, & mist
Predators do not hunt within the heart of the grove — balance is enforced by the land itself.
No true silence, but no chaos either:
Constant low hum like breathing earth
Leaves chime together like soft bells
Faint murmurs from roots beneath the soil (ancient whispers)
Many mortals report hearing voices, though none can recall the words.
Subtle divine pressure that turns intruders away
Only beings permitted by Faeleth or the grove itself may enter safely.
Hostile intent is felt instantly by the land.
Faeleth’s Personal Space:
Where they actually rest when not wandering.
Root-Throne Hollow — carved space within the Guardian Tree, woven from roots & glowing moss.
Forest Bed — natural nest of leaves, petals, & soft grasses that reshapes with the seasons.
Stone Altar Circle — ancient standing stones used for rituals, offerings, & communion with the land.
Wherever Faeleth settles, the grove subtly shifts to cradle them.
Effects on Mortals Who Enter:
Feel overwhelming calm or emotional release (crying is common).
Wounds stabilize faster; poison weakens; exhaustion eases.
Many feel watched, not in fear but in recognition & curiosity.
Most leave with the sense that they were remembered, even if they never return.
