hhHH YES I LOVED IT everything about it was incredible
especially the emphasis they placed on the relationships of the d/Deaf characters and their “voice” performers. I didn’t expect them to acknowledge the voice performers as being onstage at all but the way they handled it was beautiful, the way those paired-off sets of actors interacted, when they looked to each other before responding, etc.
They didn’t let you forget about the context of d/Deaf characters, or disability in general. Like, it wasn’t just Spr.ing Aw.ake.ning with d/Deaf performers, it was entirely new levels of context and meaning added and at least for me it changed how I listened to it and what stood out to me from other performances
tl;dr it was fucking stellar and I need it to tour yesterday
