The beauty of A Quiet Place in both of its films is in John Krasinki’s character Lee. The way the film explores his love for his children is breathtaking, and is carried along in the second film through his wife Evelyn. The fact that they’d do anything for their children to be alive. Krasinki himself said that the first film was a love letter to his children and that’s why he wrote himself in the second film.

The way Imtiaz Ali writes his films are so romantically beautiful, with the use of his characters who loves one another not only physically and emotionally, but spiritually too. From Jab We Met, to Highway, to Tamasha, then Laila Majnu. Lovers who are in eachother even in long distances, lovers who love to travel, share each others deepest wounds and secrets. Lovers who complete each other. I wish to see more of his works that are like this.

One particular thing I liked most about Veer Zaara was when Zaara gets back home from her trip and in the song “Main Yahaan Hoon” she could see Veer everywhere, in the crowd, in the distance, next to her, sometimes in her. It was captured so beautifully well and resonates within all of us when we love someone so wholeheartedly as we can feel their presence even when they are absent. This was so realistic and captured so well by the makers of Veer Zaara.

Mahabir Bhati. The character who deserved much better than what life had given him, the character who deserved peace, kindness and love. One of Imtiaz Ali’s finest gems of a character written so perfectly well, a character we wish we could’ve seen more of. Thank you Randeep Hoooda for playing your part so well.

just finished watching Mirzapur and lemme just say that Mannu’s character was written so well that I hate hate him to a full extent, and I am so furious and torn apart that they killed off Vikrant Massey like WHY would you do that, he was the one with the brains and better than all of them!! really can’t wait for season two and in hopes that Guddu gets his revenge and gets on top of all of them lol
