i've had a lot of time on my hands so i've been drawing in this thing a lot. i'm honestly appreciating traditional art a lot more than i used to. how did i never realize this. this is amazing.

also if you want you can out the yap session i had in my the superior omon anniversary art dump (will probably contain some points from there too but i'll try to include other stuff too) but that's more focused on ayy and omon and why i think they're interesting together
when dan had to roll the d20 to see what starter he got, he rolled a 3 to get omon! (honestly that plus the 3 crits thing with winner's tepig and some other stuff is why i think his lucky number is 3. it just hits his vibe and other unova nukes members have numbers associated with them (angle's is 306, tenn's is 10 and also some other multiples of 5 and 10)
also ik i mentioned this earlier but i find this so funny: "wait is omen the good or the bad one? well, it's an omen of things to come." *omon and winner's tepig collectively score 3 crits in one battle* "IT'S AN OMEN!!!!"

quote taken directly from episode 1 that i think is important to his character and i wanted to put here: "omon spells, like, a character who is sort of blissfully unaware of what's going on around them but can just take hits like a tank and then deal incredible amounts of damage. but he's just naive about doing it at all."
(also i just love that he's called the good omon and then he evolves into serperior and becomes the superior omon... yeah)
the seed of good omens was only named that after omon died because that's when it started getting seen as like the thing that would get the unova nukes through the elite 4 + champion
speaking of which!!!! there was a lot of really good luck in those battles so in a sense his spirit lives on hehehehehe
also i find it interesting that two of his held items are good luck charms (the seed of good omens and the lucky egg) so that's pretty cool
another quote but this one's from episode 4 when he got the seed " dude and who grants the best miracles? i know who grants the best miracles in this..."
he was the longest living starter before noikle and he sacrificed himself for tenn... oughhhh...

okay now that i can finally say it... HAPPY OMON DEATH DAY!!!! WOOOOO!!!! (but like i'm saying it really sadly) :(
so here's an entire dump of ayymon related stuffs (+ some ayy and omon on their own) and my yappings, starting with the digital stuff

but i feel like i haven't really explained why i ship them though. remember this post?
i feel like it sums it up pretty well but i'll go into more depth. after episode 1 when quonk and amidd died, they were the two that had to endure all that unova had on their own until kira came along. (i mean bup was TECHNICALLY there for like two seconds but like you know)
both of them have differences in how "lucky" they're seen as. as i mentioned in the post, ayy was meant to be a sacrifice to take down winner's tepig, but quonk was chosen instead. meanwhile, in omon's first battle with that tepig, the two of them had scored 3 crits in a row. i also find it funny that when naming omon, he was all like "wait is that the good one or the bad one? well, it's an omen of things to come."
ALSO, omon was constantly seen as the unova nukes' good luck charm. he would always be a part of the team, no matter they were going up against a gym they were weak to. ayy, however, was swapped out with z when the time came. i've always imagined them having a special bond with each other, no matter if you want to view it as /p or /r or whatever.
ALSO, omon's death. completely out of anyone's control, practically a sacrifice if you think about it. caused by a crit. what was once his biggest strength became his downfall. for the rest of that episode and the finale, the miracle seed/the seed of good omens was seen as a good luck charm to keep the unova nukes going.
not only that, but his influence seemed to bleed into other nuzlockes. when upi's first move was a crit, dan described it as being a "good omen." (it took me until i started watching black 2 to realize what he had done and omg i was kinda freaking out over it.) and when failboat caught a petilil (koila) during the same nuzlocke, talo had warned him due to omon dying to a lilligant. (also saying that it might actually be worthwile to use one, and that they might be strong.) i've always found it interesting that he responded by saying to not judge a pokemon by its species, considering all the stuff with magnemites.
all this yapping to say they definitely had something beautiful and doomed going on so my brain proceeded to latch onto them so hard..... to the point where i made them a playlist!!!! (i needed a segue okay)
there are two versions of this. one is a duplicate of the playlist with the original order i had the songs in, and the other is a readjusted version i made last night that makes more sense in terms of the plot. honestly for a lot of the songs here i have no real explanation for why they're here. they're here just because ig.
(oh yeah and btw idk why but i feel inclined to say this but please don't comment on any musician-related controversies. this is just a fun little playlist for my doomed plants.)
