Wasn't happy with my old version of this character, so I decided to take another crack at him. Occult Heroes: Fae Magick. This is Nathan Mganga. Fae Magick involves magical rituals designed to summon fairies and related creatures in order to accomplish works. It can also refer to magical powers granted by fairies. This character is the half-human son of The Mganga and an Elf Queen he met while traveling through Faerieland. Nathan is an expert in glamour spells, allowing him to turn invisible and assume other forms, and can commune with nature and direct the elements. His familiar is a Butterfly Drake from his mother's menagerie. (For all intents and purposes, it's a Faerie Dragon from Dungeons and Dragons. When I created this character as a teenager, I was under the mistaken impression that they were a genuine mythological creature. At this point, though, this character doesn't feel complete without a Faerie Dragon companion). Art inspired by Fables cover artist James Jean. Acrylic on illustration board.
