🚨Breaking News: Pixie Girl/Fairy Force in Production! 🚨
Today, Jeremy Zag posted on his Instagram story concept art of Pixie Girl (or is it Fairy Force?) as well as a video of Nami Tamaki recording a Japanese demo of what appears to be the official theme song.
The melody is identical to the English demo first heard at SDCC all the way back in 2016!
Unfortunately, I forgot to screenshot a now-deleted Instagram post where Zag confirmed Pixie Girl/Fairy Force's "production [is] in process". 😭
But trust me, his recent activity indirectly confirms the project is still alive.
Man, you got me looking into Pixie girl, and I'm sad that it's no longer coming out! The cast could have been so interesting to see (according to the Zagtoons fandom wiki, the main two would have Pixie Girl and Lady Butterfly)! The villains were even cool, too (a vampire, witches, ogre, and goblin)! It even did the whole magic vs. magic fight you even want to see! And now Lady Butterfly is in the miraculous universe, and Pixie girl is being retooled into a movie called Fairy Force.
Oooh I'd be intrigued to see Fairy Force, which I'm surprised Lady Butterfly isn't going to be apart of it.
But I always wondered if Pixie Girl would truly be dropped cause they were so excited for the show and it had so much promo material. And they were so excited to delve into crossovers with all the ideas they had.
Either way, I'd be curious to see Fairy Force, IF it ever comes.
So Zag shared a video in his stories focusing on Angie Nasca, a character designer for Zag, as you probably already know. And it's going to be part of a series, so I can't wait to see more creators and their work!
Anyway, in the video you can see a lot of concept art for Melody: the Movie, and it reveals bit by bit Melody's backstory. She has a childhood friend named Nina, she used to herd sheep and dream of the big city and one or both of her parents passed away, leaving her with a pink guitar.
Then Angie says she's working on design and story for the next project without saying what it is, but you can clearly see it's Fairy Force.
I encourage you to watch the video for yourself, of course
Deadline released a new article, and apparently Zag is planning another 10 movies (besides Melody and Miraculous) and will direct at least half of them. They will fall under Zag Heroez, Zag Passion and Zag Adventures umbrella brands.
All working titles, which means they can change:
Fairy Force, an animated musical that follows a little fairy coming from the forest and landing in the middle of Central Park who comes face-to-face with the witches of New York City. (I guess it's either Pixie Girl reworked into a movie or it's a movie pilot, that will serve as a jumping off point for the series);
Live-action Ghostforce movie, being developed alongside Michael Gracey, the director of The Greatest Showman;
Ladylion, an animated musical which will be developed in collaboration with global wildlife ambassador Dean Schneider;
Choco, a hybrid live-action musical;
And of course, Miraculous Ladybug and Cat Noir: The Movie.
The other five titles are yet to be announced.
