“Better a little with the fear of the Lord than great wealth with turmoil.” – Proverbs 15:16
In a world that often measures success by abundance, this verse reminds us that true peace and contentment come from reverence for God, not from material gain. A small portion blessed by His presence outweighs riches that bring anxiety and strife.
✨ Choose peace over pressure.
✨ Choose faith over fortune.

Because you love me
Oh Jesus, my King
My Rallying Call
Hold the line
Your word drawn high
Breaking dawn
Victorious horizon
A Kingdom revealed
Because you love me
Oh Jesus, my King
My rallying call
Hold the line
Your word drawn high
Sin pierced your flesh
Love pierced my heart
Courage to renew
Because you love me
Oh Jesus, my King
My rallying call
Hold the line
Your word drawn high
Shape me in your armor
Spirit advance
Across my lost territory
Because you love me
Oh Jesus, my King
My rallying call
Hold the line
Your word drawn high
Strength renewed
Footholds crumble
Strongholds fall in your light
I took inspiration from 2 Chronicles 2:11(ESV), which says:"Then Hiram the king of Tyre answered in a letter that he sent to Solomon, "Because the LORD loves his people, he has made you king over them."
Skip Heitzig's commentary on this verse Ignited idea for this poem.
'And let's just apply that to our lives. Because God loves you, He put King Jesus over your life. That's how much He loves you. You're a Christian and you're chosen, selected before the foundation of the world for Jesus to be your King, because He loves you. He has made Jesus King over you.'
Reflecting on my own life, I realize how often I've tried to make something or someone else my king. Only to end up in this never ending cycle of retreating and losing ground. The Rallying Call, expresses my heart's cry: Because He loves me, Oh Jesus, my King, I can rally and move forward past the strongholds in my life but not by my strength but by his. Contrary to popular portrayals, Jesus is not a weak loving hippie. He is a Victorious King, He's been to the darkest depths we could ever face, meets us there, and offers rescue. All we must do is ask.
