i wish the world were more personal like that, things are so corporate and superficial it makes me so sad, when stuff like that happens it reminds me there is community / people who want to just be kind and hang out

I hate so much how it felt foreign to me to be in such a personable environment where everyone’s interacting as real people. I mean, I make a habit out of trying to be outwardly nice to everyone wherever I’m going out to, and it’s not like I’m expecting to make friends every time, but that layer of good will is something that’s so profoundly missing from communities when you’ve got corporate monoliths sucking the life out of society. People get conditioned on both ends to behave in toxic ways, customers learn to just expect inhuman perfection and efficiency while managers and employees have to likewise almost dehumanize themselves in their service. It’s just, not right.
