dean’s bday !

          he’s not used to receiving gifts   –    he may get a present or two from sam and bobby, but other than them, the winchesters haven’t created any strong bonds with anyone outside their familial circle.  anna has only recently appeared in their life, and he hasn’t even thought that she would remember, let alone consider, his birthday and get him a gift.  during the unwrapping of it, dean catches himself staring down in silence, without any indication of his reaction.  it’s not until anna doubts her own gesture that he has to excuse himself and admit the truth,        ‘   –     no, no.  i like it.  it’s pretty cool actually  …    i just    –    i’m not used to receiving gifts.  thank you.  ’
