Fallout Week Day Five - Favorite DLC
Dead Money is my favorite DLC for so many reasons. Probably the main one being the same reason Moira's quote is my favorite one: It's very personal. Not only for each of the companions, but the story of the Sierra Madre itself. And the way this ends Elijah's, uh, little crusade. It's just really good and entertaining every step of the way, I'm never bored.
I can't speak for how other people play, but it's so wonderful to get to know these characters and see their strengths and weaknesses, the good and bad, and making unlikely friends out of each. And there's so much satisfaction in keeping them all as safe as possible; in that they are all alive at the end.
For Ann, using her head constantly does not come naturally. She's a berserker, that's the truth of it. She has very little control. So being in the Sierra Madre and being forced to constantly watch her back and where she steps and think about each move before she makes it, it teaches her a lot. One of the main things being that she's not stupid, which is something she always thought about herself. And she gets to make friends! Which is truly her best talent.
Though I have to say it's weird that everyone is like "You're here for the money!" when the Sierra Madre Broadcast doesn't mention any kind of guaranteed wealth. I kept wanting there to be an option that said: "I'm not here for the money! Did you hear the broadcast?! This place was supposed to be a huge party town! I came to have a good time, damn it!" & Of course, I never take the gold, because Ann is terrible with money, and she really doesn't care about it. I'm sure she thought it was pretty, picked up one bar, felt how heavy it was and just said "nope."
I know that the end card said the companions didn't gather at the fountain to wait for the courier or to say goodbye for fear of turning on one another and just being exhausted, but I like this image more. :P
