What is the Effect of Stable & Unstable Load Carriage on Walking Gait Variability, Dynamic Stability & Muscle Activity of Older Adults?
What is the Effect of Stable & Unstable Load Carriage on Walking Gait Variability, Dynamic Stability & Muscle Activity of Older Adults?
Research Paper Title
Effect of stable and unstable load carriage on walking gait variability, dynamic stability and muscle activity of older adults.
Background
Load carriage perturbs the neuromuscular system, which can be impaired due to ageing.
The ability to counteract perturbations is an indicator of neuromuscular function but if the response is insufficient the risk of falls will…

Will Carrying a Load Increase the Likelihood of Slip Initiation and the Slip Severity?
Will Carrying a Load Increase the Likelihood of Slip Initiation and the Slip Severity?
Research Paper Title
Effect of load carrying on required coefficient of friction.
Background
A load carrying task was identified as a major factor leading to slip and fall injuries such as overexertion and bodily reaction. Holding a load in front of the body while walking would shift the whole body centre-of-mass to the front, loading additional rotational torque at the foot-ground…

WTF?!? WHY???? Like. I was literally just standing there then. Boom. On the ground. And now I'm like super embarrassed and I bet Tim puts it into his notes even though I wasn't in the session anymore. I am such a falls risk.
