This was post to come a long time, but I forgot about it, so here it is
For each phase that passes , hollow vl power corrupts him more and more until it fully takes over him and makes him enter phase unknown he is so dangerous that if anyone tries to talk to him, he might end up killing them.
For how he meets verity and falsity, he meet them when him vanity vl host fell into minecraft and we're attacked by verity and falsity was helping them they ended up escaping verity.
Star soul
The soul in the star on Smile's chest is not his soul it's a random monster soul he found he decided to put it the star. The soul got corrupted by vl power given smile all of its power, and if he decides to remove it and put a new one inside, he keeps the power of new and old.
