A live-action ‘CASPER THE FRIENDLY GHOST’ series is in the works at Disney+

• Steven Spielberg will executive produce

• Rob Letterman (Goosebumps) and Hilary Winston (The Bad Guys) will develop the series

• Described as a modern take on the classic ghost story with a dark edge similar to Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’

I'm pretty excited for it, plus Steven Spielberg is gonna be executive producer on it which he was an executive producer on the 1995 live-action Movie so the show is in Good hands. I just hope they don't make it "Wednesday but Casper Edition". I atleast want it to be similar to the Live Action Movie when it comes to the dark and Mature Tone but can still be enjoyed by kids.

Fleischer Studio Headcanons

General:

-The Fleischer Toons are big lovers of jazz, especially because of how prominently it was featured in their shorts. They often have special jazz nights where they celebrate figures like Cab Calloway and Louis Armstrong. 

-Fleischer Toons have redecorated Fleischer Studios several times to surprise Dave and Max Fleischer. The two brothers and creators looked back on this during their lifetimes with fond amusement, especially at how much life was bursting from these “redecorations.”

-Fleischer Toons didn't really have dressing rooms/personal rooms for themselves during their golden years. Everything was shared between them.

-Fleischer Toons didn't really use props/set pieces the way normal Toons do. Everything was painted/drawn on the set beforehand instead of being brought over by the Toons.

-Fleischer Toons often have movie nights where they watch surreal films and critique them on how well they get the brand right. For the most part, they aren’t impressed but there have been some that they really liked. Like 1977’s Eraserhead. 

Culture:

-The Fleischer Toons aren’t afraid of a little weirdness! They take a LOT of pride in their surrealist humor and generally LIKE IT when things go off the rails. In fact, they relish every opportunity to get weird!

-Fleischer Toons are known as the Toons you go to for advice. They’re not as private as the Disney Toons but not as closed off as the Looney Tunes. They’re PERFECTLY happy sharing some of their tips and tricks on what makes a successful cartoon in their eyes. 

-The Fleischer Toons are VERY tight with each other and never fight. There’s no divide like Disney. There’s no “lesser” character like in DePatie-Freleng Studios. They learned from seeing Dave and Max Fleischer, two brothers, fight near the twilight era of their studio. They resolved to NEVER go through that with each other. 

-Fleischer Toons do not like it when they’re described as being “acid or drug trippy.” They find the term rather offensive. 

-The Fleischer Toons get along BEST with Famous Studio Toons. Despite being very different from each other in style and Famous Studios being created to replace Fleischer, the Fleischer Toons harbor no jealousy and APPRECIATE and are impressed that the HarveyToons were able to make something of themselves. 

-Flesicher Toons also get along really well with the Looney Tunes! The LTS and Fleischer Toons commonly cite each other as major inspirations for their current work today. 

-In fact, Fleischer Toons get along with EVERY Toon studio, probably because they’re the most personable and open of the Toons. Betty herself especially is beloved by every single Toon studio. 

-When the Fleischer Toons need to be represented, it’s usually Betty that goes. However, on the rare times she’s not available, Popeye or occasionally Koko the Clown will take her place.

With the release of the Tom and Jerry Golden Era set on Blu-ray, I thought it would be a good time to show off my collection of classic golden age of animation on DVD/Blu-ray that I've been collecting on and off since 2006 (it all started when my parents got me vol. 4 of the Looney Tunes Golden Collection for Christmas that year).
