Let me say one thing; the kinktober discourse. I know there's always been opposing oppinions, love it hate it whatever, but this year shit has gotten way out of hand. Kinktober is an 18+ event (if you are under 18 and want to read or participate then please don't put that target on your head by saying so everywhere you go) therefore if you are not 18+ then you don't get to discuss it. Kink is for adults, to be discussed by adults, kinktober is a space to freely explore in fiction that which you might not otherwise. So long as a kink, any kink, literally anything at all, is properly discussed and negotiated between two (or more) CONSENTING ADULTS then it is fine and even healthy. Role-playing between CONSENTING ADULTS is fine, any type of roleplay, no matter how distasteful or disgusting or immoral it seems to YOU.
That being said when it comes to fiction things are MUCH looser, your moral objections can take a hike here. Don't like don't read, don't look, don't seek it out, block and move on with your life. And if you're one of those "but this just shouldn't exist at all" people, then grow up. This is the internet, all things exist whether you want them to or not. It's YOUR job to keep YOU and any of your dependants safe online. If you are not mature enough to take responsibility for the things you will come across online (because you will see some stuff you didn't want to see, you will learn thing you could have gone your whole life without knowing) then you should not be there in the first place. You cannot control that other people post online, but you CAN controle how you curate your own experience.
Take ao3 for example; it has shit that I fucking can't stand in swathes. But I just BLOCK THE TAGS instead of getting all high and mighty about it.
I'm so sick of you virtue signaling, fandom police, purists. Here, look I'll even make a skin for you and attach it to this post. Clean AO3. Does that solve your problem?
This is to all the fandom police out there 😉 (not my gif)
If someone wants to write a fanfic about Bruce X reader, Jerome x reader, Jim x reader, Jim x Jerome, Bruce x Jerome, Ed X Oswald, Oswald X reader, Jim X Harvey even…even…Fish X Jim! Then so what? You don’t have to read it you know. No one is going to point a gun to your head and force you to read it. I admit, I HATE Theo x Jerome fanfiction…yes…it is out there (believe it or not) but I didn’t go all fandom cop even though it makes me cringe whenever I see one because that’s what some people request or want to write about and they have a right too. So just scroll past and carry on...thank you 😊
