I absolutely looooove Fire Lily by EtherealBeing. It's a bkdk Demon & Angel AU. I cannot get enough of this fic and I've re-read it so many times it's a bit embarrassing to admit lmao. The lore is simply AMAZING and so are the ideologies in it. It really makes you question your previously held beliefs. The author is just so good at world building that honestly I feel like she can write her own novel with her own characters.
If you're looking for a high school-setting falling in love + getting your heart broken type fic then this might not be for you. But, if themes like 'us against the world' + thriller genre + adventure + plot driven sound appealing to you then I definitely recommend this fic. The romance is still there ofc and ultimately bkdk are falling for each other (all the flirting and their interactions are really cute) but relationship angst isn't the main focus of the story.
Maybe it's because I grew up reading books like The Hunger Games so I'm a sucker for stories with dystopian/take down the government aspects and that is what Fire Lily is. The fic is still ongoing but the author is updating it regularly and I can promise you that she hasn’t abandoned it.
