So, a friend tried to report a racist user after they left a short positive message encouraging “anyone” who experiences trouble in North America, only to be harassed by a racist user who randomly started making it about slavery (dismissing slavery and it’s effects on today’s world). To be very clear: The racist user brought slavery up (diminishing it’s impact), not my friend. This (disgusting) chat was going to be deleted, but my friend changed their mind. This chat here, is my friend trying to report it to the moderator (although they knew it wouldn’t work, cause racists are everywhere. But they tried, just to do it.)
The Fandom mod (of Miraculous Ladybug), seen here in these posts, had zero understanding of anything. They also claimed to be a lot more “compassionate”.
In the first picture, the racist mod was talking about the protests happening right now.
Their entire interpretation of the protests against racism, is that black people are protesting against slavery, but are actually using that as “excuses to vandalize”. All on top of their belief that between slavery and now, nothing bad has ever happened to black and indigenous people. Completely missing the fact that racism exists today, and that is what people are fighting against. On top of that, past effects the future. Obviously, besides slavery itself, racism was very heavily perpetuated between slavery and now, which has, again, obviously shaped our world today. Note: the (racist) moderator said that they weren’t black or indigenous. They also tried to compare slavery to gladiators. (Some of the first gladiators were black slaves forced to kill each other, but this person doesn’t know that).
Racism exists in so many ways. A lot of the people who are not targets of racism, do not know these issues of racism exist because they aren’t the ones that face it. It really isn’t rocket science. I do not know all of the troubles that people face, because I do not go through all of those things (nor have I even simply heard of all the problems that exist). Also, the people who suffer the most on this planet aren’t always worlds away from you.
Clearly, the racist in the chat wasn’t paying attention to anything my friend said. Multiple times they mentioned today’s racism, and the racist just responds with “Slavery was bad, but inevitable.”, “Slavery was inevitable”, or “They haven’t lived through it”.
Of all words to choose to describe slavery, something so excruciatingly horrific, this mod chose “inevitable”. We all know that in this hate-filled world, terror is bound to happen, however, monstrosities should never be casually summed down to a meager description that is, “inevitable”. A true, just, person would never describe anything as such, because when you describe this kind of evil as “inevitable”, you’re saying that these acts were not a choice to perpetuate crime, but rather, an occurrence by nature. Thus, excusing the perpetrators’ purposefully heinous decisions. --and don’t even get me started on the “slavery was a mistake.” thing. How exactly do you “mistakenly” slave people?
“I have heard and read enough to form my own opinion.” -Bigot mod
Opinions of the racially non-suffering, are not more important than the Experiences of the victims of racism.
This is just to warn some about this prejudice moderator. The racist user is (the second person) on the ‘friends’ list of this mod.
