Aurora reached the intersection of four corridors after ten minutes of creeping through the tunnels beneath palace. Her intel hadn’t mentioned anything about this. “Damn you, Cyrix. A map would have been nice.” After listening carefully down each of the hallways, satisfied that no one was near, she conjured an orb of dragon’s fire in the palm of her hand, allowing her to see the path about 30 ft in each direction.
The path to her right turned to stone halfway down. The path directly in front of her smelled of moist earth. And the path to her left was all but untouched.
“Left it is.”
Hiking up her skirt and allowing her dragon’s fire to illuminate the way she started down the path, muttering a spell to make her steps untraceable. The hallway was long, so long, she was fairly certain that she’d moved beyond the castle itself, likely into the foothills nearby.
The hallway ended in a wooden door with no obvious locking mechanism. One might have scoffed at the lack of protection, but she knew better than to judge a door on what her eyes could see. Carefully inspecting the door, she found a couple of booby traps, efficiently disabling them.
With a soft click, the door swung open revealing a large room with a vaulted ceiling. Inside there were shelves upon shelves of what was believed to be the rarest item in the world - dragon eggs.
“Bastards,” she muttered to herself.
She quickly studied the room, making a plan to move things out slowly so they wouldn’t be noticed until it was too late. Convinced she knew the lay of the land, she carefully placed as many eggs as she could in her satchel, and the smallest one in the pouch around her neck before exiting back the way she came.
She made it out of the tunnels and almost clear of the castle’s land when a guard spotted her. Knowing she was going to be caught she magicked away her satchel and gave herself.
As the guards dragged her through the castle, she didn’t bother fighting. She was forced on her knees in an opulent throne room. When she looked up she was surprised at who was standing there.
“The crown prince himself? What did little old me do to deserve such treatment?” she quipped.

There were a few things Masha knew for certain about the Forest on the edge of the village. Things that came from having grown up playing in and among the trees. And one of those things was that there had certainly not been a statue here before. ‘Here’ of course being tucked fairly far back in the woods, farther than many of the others would go.
Another thing that was interesting about it, was that it was apparently alive. Some how. It was definitely made of stone as well, she had figured that out when she had carefully reached out to brush her fingers against it. Which made her all the more curious about what what could be going on. So for the time being she had settled herself down, facing the living stone, and her cane placed carefully across her lap. Keeping herself occupied by humming little songs to herself as she waited for it to do something.
open to males plot; filipa is one of the most powerful sorceresses in the world, and you come asking for help for the upcoming battle for the north after the south has fallen. your muse can be royalty, a lord, knight, another mage, witcher maybe?
Did it ever cross her mind to join the war and help where it was needed? Maybe, for a brief moment. But it wasn’t her war, and she didn’t want to side with anyone, for her own good, and the good of the others. Filipa was aware of just what she could do, and she was afraid of it, the chaos that lived inside of her and that marked her for all the decades she’s been alive. Always hated, shunned by others, never accepted, not even in Aretuza. There were those who wanted to kill her, people she had trusted before, because they saw the darkness in her, and those who wanted to capture her, and use her darkness for their own gain, which is why Filipa stayed hidden, away from them, and the common folk. But she felt them coming, and let them, for the sake of her own fun, it’s been a while since she had company on her small farm in the middle of the woods, and they were coming here alone. “I know why you’re here. And I’ll tell you right away, my answer is no. So you can turn around and get the hell out of here.”she spoke as she exited to her porch; her only worry right now was that she’d have to move, yet again, because she was found.
Introducing Fantasy!Verse
