❝We kept to the shadows long enough, have we not?❞
@fatedshare / eivor ♥’d !
What happened with Basim, his betrayal, was quite hard for Hytham to process, even if he was doing his best to not show it. He didn’t understand; Basim had always seemed to care so damn much about both Eivor and Sigurd... It seemed so wrong that he had attacked them, but Hytham also TRUSTED Eivor. He knew she wouldn’t have attacked him if he hadn’t been the one starting all of this. At least, they had gotten rid off the Order in the region, and all of this was thanks to Eivor.
Hytham smirked in her direction when she entered his bureau. “It’s good to see you.” He assured kindly. “You... you don’t mind if I stay here for a bit, right ?” Actually, he didn’t know exactly how much time, but it wasn’t because the Order was gone for now that the Hidden Ones weren’t necessary anymore. “I’ll need to travel eventually, but... I’ll probably come back, unless you don’t want me around anymore, which I would understand, after what happened.”
@fatedshare receives a PLOTTED starter from ALETHEIA to BASIM!
For the first time in so long, she had a few moments of black. Of darkness. This verison of her had never felt what it was like to die. Yet this was not death, this was rebirth. The calculations had changed, she had altered them. Once they had only been able to communicate via the spider webs of new technology. Upon her waking now, she would be able to touch him. She had not let herself truly become excited, when this final part was the most difficult.
A body without depriving a human too. Humanity had surprised even her. Her morality could remain.
It was happening. Suddenly there were so many sensations. It was almost overwhelming even to breathe, to feel her own heart beat. Blue eyes opened and yet were immediately blinded when she saw his face as her first vision. One of the machines at her side beeped as her heart raced in her chest. Slowly, almost robotically, a hand reached to touch his scruffy face and it was when she felt the tickle of his stubble that it truly did hit her.
“It worked.”
She could think of nothing else to say.
@fatedshare - from [Alexios] for...Kassandra, if that’s okay?
Once again, Alexios couldn’t sleep. Every time he’d tried to close his eyes and relax, a maelstrom of worries swirled in his head until he was tense from head to toe. After all, he had often closed his eyes and relaxed as part of honing his battle awareness when he was younger. He’d done it so often, it had been a long-standing habit, a way to pass time. And certainly, he’d also slept as Deimos, but never well, and what if his body mistook the difference? What if he slipped back into that habit, and into others? Into violence and disregard for the family who loved him? The idea seemed at once impossible - now that he knew the truth - and disturbingly easy.
Thus, Alexios had climbed up onto the roof of his family’s house as quietly as he could, sitting with his feet dangling over the edge and settling back on his palms to stare up at the stars. He wished he knew their shapes better, knew the stories behind them. Celestial navigation had never been a strength of his; he’d been too focused on his presumed destiny in the decades prior to really learn. Now, however, he yearned to know, to see animals and heroes and so much more in the night sky. Footsteps on the ground below caught his attention, and Alexios leaned forward to see who it was. “Can you not sleep either?” he called down to Kassandra, just loud enough to be heard.
The woman grinned, looking down at Basim smugly as he shot a glare up at her. Eivor squatted down to be eye level with him, tilting her head. ❝Busy doing what, Basim?❞ She teases, knowing full well what he’s doing. Continued from x @fatedshare
@fatedshare said: ❛ tousle . mess playfully with my muse’s hair . — Eivor
Hytham was concentrated on his papers; actually he was trying to finish them really quickly so he could be free when Eivor arrived. However, she seemed to be more quickly then him, because she entered his office. He told her he was almost done, but at those words, she decided to mess with his hair instead, which brought a chuckle from Hytham’s lips.
“It will take more time if you distract me, you know.” He teased before he gently took her other hand.
LOUD & DEAFENING SILENCE | ACCEPTING
Smooch Prompt -Accepting!! @fatedshare
Finally, Basim has returned to the settlement. Eivor has missed his company, and longed for him. She makes her way to him in the long house, quickly pulling him into a kiss and shoving him into a nearby wall as she did so. She pulled back, resting her forehead against his. ❝You have been gone for so long, Basim.❞
Unprompted Asks -Always Accepting!! @fatedshare
It was nice, settling down in a middle of the field just in their settlement and watching the stars. Eivor nearly falls asleep but quickly opened her eyes the moment Basim lifted her up and carried her into the longhouse. She let out a small noise of shock, but wrapped her arms around his neck and nestled into his chest. ❝Mm. We going to sleep, then?❞ She teases, looking up at him with a small smirk.
