i feel you super hard on your post about fandom gatekeeping. those posts and the people mocking omgcp turned irl hockey fans are making me furious, it keeps reminding me of dudes who insist we pass some shitty made up litmus test to prove we really belong. it's bullshit.

The thing is, I feel hurt by people who say things like that. I started getting interested in hockey because of the fic, which is not the traditional way to begin with, and I was really lucky to have supportive friends who were already fans and they explained all the rules and the teams to me. And after two years, there are still things that blindside me, because American sports has so many different rules in how it’s important culturally and economically that it’s really hard to keep up sometimes.

I know people are upset with certain fans for what they perceive to be disinterest in the actual sport, but that’s more likely to be fixed with educational posts and dialogue than making petty posts and gloating about how many people agree with you. 

A lot of OMGCP fans are teenagers, and shit, who wasn’t embarrassing and group minded when they were a teenager? Though, then again, the people making those posts about fake fans are teenagers too, so maybe I shouldn’t be so hard on them.

Okay here's something for your JaBenn anon to think about: Jamie's laugh is more than "kinda awkward;" he has the kind of laugh that people point to when explaining what "guffawing" is, he sort of wheezes when he laughs really hard. Everyone sort of just rolls their eyes because, really, Jameson it wasn't that funny. As his older brother, though, Jordie's always trying to make him laugh until he's hiccuping. Only now he has to hear it over the phone instead, tinny and far away from Dallas.

hi! can i ask what's wrong with kelli stack? i don't actually know, like, anything about her really but i've seen a few people dislike her.

Basically she’s a pretty avid tr*mp supporter, and also like a general bigot and racist (her twitter is a dumpster fire) just check here and here. (she’s also one of the better known players bc she was on the national team until this year)

how stromarnsthews would work: auston sees dylan's comments and understands, because he is Soft and Sweet, how frustrating being so far away from mitch is. but he wants to take care of mitch because have i mentioned how soft and sweet my son auston is? so he talks to dylan, updates him, makes sure mitch answers, falls for them both while trying to be a good middle-man and friend.

Oh my god Auston is the classic middleman who falls in love with both the beebs. And Mitch gets weirdly jealous because he thinks Auston and Dylan are starting to become a thing (he’s not sure who he’s more jealous of though) and Dylan likewise thinks that Mitch and Auston are getting up to things without him in Toronto. And when the Leafs play the Yotes they clear things up and OT3, all is good, polyamory saves the day 🙌

i didn't really understand your thing for kucherov but after seeing your answer to that ask the other day? i'm kinda feeling it??? although tbh i'm super easy to persuade mostly

Honestly, my thing for Kucherov grows stronger every time someone tells me they either don’t know him or don’t care about him. I remember watching him during the playoffs and thinking, Wow, this guy’s a machine but no one could really tell me anything about him?? Or even remember who he was??

There are tons of very good players in the league, and there are bound to be a few that slip through the cracks. Kuch is one of them, and when I found that this rising winger didn’t have much of a visible fanbase (it’s there, just dispersed), I was determined to love him harder every time the media neglected him. It’s sort of a self-perpetuating cycle though because when I’m fond of someone, I only get more and more fond as time goes on.

I’m really glad you’re starting to see the appeal though! :D I’ve made it my personal mission to get more people to know who he is and what a dynamic young player he’s shaping up to be.
