Arnwynn and @of-stone-and-irons Titagron!
"Titagron Cheats. By sheer size alone. That is all." -Kat being Kat
The great, molten dei threw back his head and laughed, threads of his golden beard bouncing as he listened to the draconic kit.
"Ahh, do not be sour because the dragon has met a mountain and found it larger!" he boomed, his tusks gleaming as he grinned down at her. "You will grow! It will take a great amount of time, but with the blessing of troll magics still thrumming through you, I foresee you being great even among your kind!"
Great Titagron, I had a vision I could not believe!
Decades from now I saw unbelieveable, but clear glimses of a troll that walks under the sun without damage, without pain and holds a powers that could tear a moutain from inside.
The troll's golden skin and his red fur glimmer in the sun and its eyes are bright like peridots.
My lord, this power cannot be handled to anyone or else the dark minds use it to ruin the fragile harmony. What I am asking, is this sun troll a threat to us?
My soothcyer companions cannot catch the glimse again. Please answer our worries in exchange for this sacrifice.
*Holding out a basket with troll food and freshly dead goat as a sacrifice while kneeling*
The titanic troll hummed and reached down to take up the basket, his eyes glinting thoughtfully. He remembered the primordial earth, the land of turbulent elements all foaming and rumbling as they found and carved out their place in the world. He remembered the molten lava of his volcanic homes, the brilliant green forests of Gæta's domain, and all the children they had on their journey who eventually became one with their domains.
"I have had many sons, daughters, and stonesort in my young years," he rumbled, considering the basket in his dark red claws. "Many with power to rival mine and their mother's. Perhaps this is one of my lost children? One who escaped Death's curse upon the sun?"
He slipped the basket between his tusks, consuming the food and goat with it.
"You have done well to seek me," he hummed, gazing down at his worshiper. "Bring me any further news of this Sun Troll. Bring him to me if you can. It may be that he is the last of his brood."
Have you considered sending your mask through a Fetch? To be placed on another that you might be able to find you beloved?
Father Instinct folded his arms and let out a heavy sigh.
“I have,” he answered with a low rumble. “I have also thought of what might be done with my power should those unworthy of it wield it, and what will become of those who succumb to my power as the troll who put on this mask did.” Titagron paused and tucked his chin against his chest. “I know that I am a specter, a visitor to this plane of existence and that my mask allows me to roam about as if I were stone flesh again. But all bridges have their limits and mine are many. Those who are strong enough to bear my presence are gifted my power. Those who are not or who have had me linger with them too long, soon perish and their stone becomes my own. I do not wish that upon my children. For already have I claimed such a follower and I would avoid further unnecessary sacrifices if I can.”
“ To assume I am human in the slightest is perhaps why you’re so easily forgotten. You can snort and stamp your feet all you’d like old man, but what good will a child’s tantrum do against the mother of monsters? Against the pale lady? Against me? The eldritch Queen? What have you done, to right the ‘wrongs’ you accuse me of? Nothing. Because you know you cannot stand against true power.”
At this the titan’s roar could be felt throughout the Darklands, the ground shaking with his fury.
“TRUE POWER!? YOU KNOW NOTHING OF TRUE POWER!!!” Once again the titan stomped, but this time, stalagmites shivered and stones fell from the roof of the cavern. “I HAVE FACE DEATH AND DEFEATED THEM! I SCORCHED THEIR HANDS AND TOOK THE COLD SURFACE OF THESE DARKLANDS! I CLOAKED THE FIRST LIFE WITH THE ASHES FROM MY MANE! I TOOK THE FIRST MATE AND BROUGHT ABOUT THE FIRST EGG WITH HER! And when Death took their eyes and threw them into the sky to scorch us with light, I USED MY POWER TO BLIND DEATH AND BRING ON THE DARKNESS WE NOW ENJOY!”
He took a breath and tossed his horns, his eyes, mouth and rune marks glowing as if he were figure of molten lava whose skin had only just cooled.
“You may be the Eldritch Queen, but I AM THE FATHER OF TROLL KIND! And I will not stand by as you play these HUMAN GAMES of war and peace! Human you may not be, but your games, your betrayals, and machinations—ALL OF THEM ARE ACTS STAPLED BY HUMANITY! It is why Impures are so hated—It is not in the nature of Trolls do be tools of such keen betrayal. Titan beasts we may be, but betrayal of our kith and kin is against our nature, but not against the nature of Humans.“
Letting out a slow, flaming breath, Titagron’ allowed his magic to cool and his temper to simmer to a more reasonable level.
“Eldritch Queen you may be, but ruling with an iron fist and slaying all whom you can no longer use is a far cry from the role of Deity, in which the futures and welbeing of those who follow you take precedence over the petty agendas of the mortal world.”
kat got restless again. being stuck with injuries for a week tends to do that. So she's off exploring. but she's caught a new scent. one that most would probably steer away from, but katana "what are warning bells?' masako is gonna go tracking it.
The great titan is standing in meditation, his great hands pressed against the dark stone of the darklands. He seems deep in concentration as he doesn’t move neither ear nor eye toward the creature as she approaches his territory.
“Who goes there?” he rumbled and opened a single eye to look at the half-demon. “Speak.”
When did you meet human kind for the first time?
Titagron hummed and folded his arms. “I met human kind long after I blinded Death’s Eye, brought night never-ending to my people, and ascended to the Ether as a deity. I met them when my kind crossed beyond the bridge and into the surface lands. Through the eyes of my children I have seen them, through their feasts, I have tasted them. All trolls have threads of my life in them, thus have they shared their combined experiences with humans with me. This is the power of Dei, both the blessing and the curse of fatherhood.”
Truth: Admit what you HATE about Gunmar. Saying 'nothing' doesn't count Dare: Slap Gunmar | For Titagron
“I’ll not strike my heir without cause,” the trollish deity rumbled, bearing his tusk at the grey as he clasped his four hands behind his back. “But if I must say what I hate about him, then it is what he has done to his tribe. Trolls are kinsmen to be led through valor. Thralls are not a tribe. They are prisoners of war, slaves ruled by magic. I did not favor it when Orlagk subjugated the souls of his brethren with it then, I do not favor it now.”
