It's Munday, here I am in fantastic beasts 2 which I'm ecstatic about (but JK Rowling can go fuck herself the huge terf) as I thought I only made one scene. Fun Fact: they filmed my butt walking to my desk but it didn't make the cut.
By the Water
(Theseus Scamander x Reader)
It's your last year at Hogwarts, and you have a lot on your mind. Luckily you find someone to talk to--or rather they find you.

GUYS
The screenplay states that Newt took Tina’s picture out from his breast pocket.
He literally and figuratively kept Tina close to his heart. Like how precious is that???

Haircut - Newt Scamander
Newt Scamander x female reader
Summary: The reader gets a haircut, but allows past traumas to ruin her excitement.
Trigger warnings: (past) toxic relationship, emotional abuse
You had just gotten your haircut, and you loved the way it looked. It wasn’t too much shorter, just enough to feel lighter and bouncier. The stylist had also said you would look amazing with ombre ends, and on a whim, you’d agreed.
Now, you were walking back to the London apartment you shared with your boyfriend of over a year now, Newt. The closer you got, however, the more anxious you became.
A very similar situation had set itself up a few years ago with your old boyfriend, Ivan. The memory, one of many bad ones, kept replaying in your head as you walked.
You walked through the front door of your apartment. It was located in a shady neighborhood, with many muggings and robberies. But Ivan hadn’t wanted to pay more rent for a nicer place, so here was where you were living. You’d only been together for a few months, and you were young, but your parents had kicked you out after you’d been involved in a cheating scandal while taking the NEWTS. Long story short, it wasn’t your fault, but you were still expelled.
You’d cut your hair, just a trim. It had been while you were out with a friend from Hogwarts, and she assured you that you looked amazing.
“Ivan,” you called out. “I’m home.”
He grunted from the sofa, and you walked over. He was reading the news, some story about a powerful wizard rising up. You didn’t usually pay attention to such things - the aurors would catch him soon enough.
“Hey,” you greeted, standing shyly in front of him. You hoped he would like your new hair.
“What?” he didn’t look up.
“Notice anything different?” You gave a little twirl in front of him.
He sighed, setting the paper down before looking up. He scratched at the stubble on his chin. “What did you do to your hair?” His tone was accusatory rather than appreciative.
You frowned. “I got it cut, baby.”
He sneered. “You really should’ve asked me first.”
You spluttered. “B-but do you like it?”
“No,” he huffed, standing. “Looks horrible. I don’t even want to look at you right now.”
A hurt expression spread across your face. “I- I’m sorry. I didn’t think-”
“You don’t think!” he roared. “Just, damn it, Y/N. I don’t know what to do with you sometimes. You always mess everything up.”
“It’s just a haircut, Ivan,” you said, tears welling in your eyes. “I- I can take some potion. Make it grow back out faster, if you want?”
“You better,” he flopped back down on the couch, opening up the paper and resuming reading.
“Ivan-” you wanted to smooth this out. It really wasn’t that big of an issue.
He didn’t look at you. “Don’t talk to me,” he said bitterly, “until you fix that.”
You stood in front of him, biting your lip and holding back the tears that threatened to spill. You wanted to explain that it was only a few inches - you hadn’t changed that much. Furthermore, it was your hair. Not his. You could do what you wanted with it. But this was his apartment - he paid for it. He wouldn’t let you work. You didn’t have anywhere else to go. You needed him and his approval.
So you left the room, doing as he said.
Your life turned around when you ran into a friend from Hogwarts, Newt Scamander. He sympathized with your situation, offering you a job tending to his creatures in exchange for a place to stay. He convinced you that you could live without Ivan, and he was right. You left the scumbag, and eventually fell in love with Newt.
You were now letting yourself through the door, mentally bracing, preparing for history to repeat itself. When would you learn?
You breathed deeply, attempting to quell your anxieties. It’s Newt, not Ivan, became your mantra.
You walked in, instantly greeted with the smell of (your favorite meal) cooking. You breathed in deeply, savoring it.
Newt was in the kitchen, and his face lit up when he saw you. He took off his apron, hurrying over to kiss you hello. “You’re back,” he grinned. “And look, your hair!”
Despite the fact that he didn’t stop smiling, you flinched backwards.
He picked up on your reaction. “What’s wrong?”
Your mind filled with panic, but you forced it down. “You- you like it?”
He seemed confused. “Of course. Why wouldn’t I?” He chuckled. “I may be a little biased, but I think you look amazing no matter what.”
“You’re not mad?” you whispered, needing to be sure.
All traces of humor on his face were gone. He cupped your cheek in his hand, using his thumb to wipe away a traitor tear that had escaped. “No, no. Never. In Merlin’s Beard, why would I be mad?”
“Because I didn’t ask.”
His jaw clenched. “Did he get mad at you for that once?” You only ever saw him get truly angry when something was threatening you or his creatures, or when your ex became a topic of discussion.
“Yeah,” you confirmed, calming down slightly.
He drew you into a hug, and you buried your head in his chest. “I will never, ever get mad at you for anything like that, okay?” he told you. “Ivan was a jerk, and he had no right to control you like that. For the record, I love the hair. But even if I didn’t, I wouldn’t get a say in what you did with it. Alright?”
You nodded against his chest, feeling much better.
“I want to hear you say it.”
“Alright,” you said aloud, firmness in your voice. Newt, not Ivan. Newt would never treat you badly.
The smile returned to his face, as he said, “Good, now let’s eat!”
The invisible scars Ivan left on you would make more appearances in the future, but each time Newt would be there, and each time they would heal that much more.
