This song is for you. || Headcanon Week
During Jack’s birthday, Jazz wanted to sing him a song, as he often does with her. She had been practicing in her room, but stopped shyly when Jack walked in.
Jasmine was pacing around her room. Her bestfriend’s birthday was coming up in a few days and she was nervous. For nights and nights she had thought about what she could do for him. Until finally, she decided to sing him a song. Same as what he usually loves doing for her. She had it all planned out. The song she was going to sing, the gift she was planning to give him, her birthday letter and a birthday cake. Only problem? She was not yet used to singing in front of him.
She had done it a few fair times, but she always felt queasy whenever she did and she could never keep herself from shying away whenever he would smile that (okay she admits) handsome smile of his.
So to try and keep herself calm, she decided to practice on the song she was going to play. Okay, okay. Maybe it wasn’t the best idea, considering that was what’s making her nervous in the first place. But she couldn’t help it. So after glancing outside her door to see if anyone was out there, she took her guitar and checked its tune. Then she started playing.
Friday night beneath the stars,
In a field behind your yard,
You and I are paintin’ pictures in the sky.
And sometimes we don’t say a thing;
Just listen to the crickets sing.
Everything I need is right here by my side.
And I know everything about you
I don’t wanna live without you.
I’m only up when your not down.
Don’t wanna fly if you’re still on the ground.
It’s like no matter what I do.
Well you drive me crazy half the time;
The other half I’m only trying to let
You know that what I feel is true.
And I’m only me when I’m with you.
She was just about to sing into the next verse when all of a sudden, her bedroom door slammed open and Jasmine jumped away from the bed in shock. "Hi Siopaaaaaaao!" Jack exclaimed, walking inside with a boyish smile plastered on his face.
Narinig niya kaya yun? Pano kung oo? Baka mapalpak yung surprise ko! Jazz was currently panicking in her mind. But outside, she kept a wide smile as she looked at him, not wanting him to realize she was going out of her mind in terror.
"Uy, okay ka lang?" He asked, looking worried.
She nodded, still looking flustered. "Oo naman!" Good job, Jasmine. Nice acting skills. She herself noticed that her voice was higher and that it was cracking from all the tension she was feeling.
Jazz nodded again. He took the guitar from her hands and started playing a little tune, to which he started singing to himself then. Guess he believes her, then. She felt herself breathe out a sigh of relief as she hid the lyric sheet under her pillow, making sure her wouldn’t go and stumble upon it.
Sana magustuhan mo yung surprise ko, Bam-Bam.
