Diamant's name has extra meaning to me because I grew hearing the phrase "Pressure makes a diamond, but too much pressure makes dust."

That fits Diamant perfectly. He's strong, smart, confident, but deep down, there's a pressure that threatens to make him crumble under the weight of his expectations
