I'm starting a new project for myself - I've made a list of different "features", given them numbers and then rolled some die to give myself a selection of features to build a monster/creature out of. (This isn't a new idea - I'm SURE other folks have done this before, but it's something I've never tried before and I'm hoping it'll help bring me out of the February Funk I've been in). This first set results were : Eyes - YES = (2D10) = 2 eyes / 5. Sclera Nose - YES = (2D6)= 1 nose / 2. Long Mouth - YES = (2D6)= 1 mouth / 6. Beak Teeth - YES = (2D6) = 6+ teeth / 4. Sharp Ears - NO Limbs - YES = (2D6+2D6) = 6+ limbs / 2. Legs + 3. Wings Misc - YES = (1D20) = 3. Feathers (Very lucky this round✨💚✨) . . . . . . #monster #march #challenge #februarysucks #ink #watercolour #watercolor #bird #crow #dice #personalchallenge #practice #visiblewomen #drawing #painting #penandinkdrawing #penandink #artistofinstagram #artistsoninstagram #fantasy #darkfantasy https://www.instagram.com/p/B9QRVfBjnD2/?igshid=1tro5awy0ezk9

An open thought.
The people that hurt you the worst, are those you trusted most. Their betrayal and their inconsiderate actions are the ones that cut the deepest because they come from the last people you'd expect. You put your trust and time into them, just to have them turn around and tell you that you don't matter. Why bother, when you only end up right back where you started. I'm guilty of it. We all are. Maybe that's why it shouldn't surprise us when it happens to us in return. It's just never from the people we'd expect- those that we love. Those that we've spent hours with. Those that we've been there for. Those who have seen you at your worst. And still. They drop you first chance they get. Maybe that's what friendship has become. Fleeting insincere relationships that only make you happy for so long.
Wake Up
Winter is never a good time for me, no matter what good is happening in my life I am always dragged down. While December and January were actually pretty decent months, February has been incredibly trying. I had zero energy to do anything, I was annoyed with people (even people who don't annoy me) and I couldn't see past negative thoughts that just like to appear out of nowhere (jerks). While this bad mood/darkness is typical of winter I have also recognised areas in my life which I am no longer content with and these are areas which I have the power to change. Often times I find people react to my darkness poorly. They tell me to stop being so negative, to think happy thoughts, to be patient etc. All garbage. If there is something in your life which is detrimental to your health, mental or physical, and you have the power to change it by all means do. Sometimes this requires discussion and an ear from people while you work through your shit, not some bullshit cliché sayings. Let's empower each other to be the best we can be.
As I start to wake up from my winter hibernation I feel like I'm in need of a personal challenge. I am by no means religious but since Lent starts this week I figured I'd follow along. At first I thought that giving up chocolate (my major vice at the moment) would be a good challenge but then I read something highlighting this as an opportunity to make a more meaningful sacrifice. So instead of giving up chocolate (a sign of other problems) I'm going to focus on letting go. "Let go of negative feelings. Release those feelings or anger, jealousy or fear. Find positive ways to reestablish your mindset. Is it easy? No. Is it meaningful? Absolutely!"
So here is to getting better and making changes when you need to.
At the poetry slam last night when she was like "WHO HAS TUMBLR" and we were the only ones in the back raising our hands lol
Because we get it
