A question for the feedist community on here:
As someone who tries their best to filter out the word o*ese and death feedism posts (yall are valid I just don’t wish to participate) via the tags, why is it that often times posts with those exact tags make it through to my recommended and for you but the ones that ARE flagged have none of those words included????
I don’t know if this is a tumblr being a not great website mechanically or not being great about certain types of posts being filtered out but I feel like I’m losing my mind every time I accidentally open a post its filtered out for me and find that, in fact, NONE of what I asked to be filtered out is even included in that post ANYWHERE.
I keep seeing other people's feedist jars and just remembered I did one too so here it is:
Shout out to @justachunker for making this (even if they are inactive)!
i didn't want to derail that last reblog by posting my thoughts about an unrelated kink on it, but it touched on some i think kind of complicated thoughts i have about fatness and kink.
generally i'm a kink-leaning person, but i never know where i fit in those spaces. this blog (before i realized that i realized it was absolutely fucking necessary to deal with my eating disorder immediately which by the way was the right choice) came about because i was experimenting with feedism.
and i do think there's some overlap with that and my own feelings on fatness and desire, but one thing i struggle with in feedist and even just "fat admiring" or whatever spaces is there's this deluge of people who think that fat is bad and they find that hot.
i'm definitely not trying to kink shame and i know not everyone into feedism or fat people is like this. and i understand that people have shit they need to work out and kink is a way to do that, but on the other hand it doesn't make me feel good.
like, i see being fat and asserting that you're beautiful or hot and being able to see gaining weight as just you embracing life for the first time as just, like, a really amazing and awesome thing and i'd love for a person to one day fully appreciate this aspect of me that is so close to the core of who I am.
and i of course know there are like-minded folks out there (I have a few mutuals on here who fit that description, I think); they're just maybe not as vocal.
(but consider this your invitation to be more vocal if you feel similarly!)
Respect to the tall, the skint, the blue collar, the busy, the sick, the self-doubters, and anyone else who has to work extra hard on their desired weight gain.
Respect also to the maintainers and the people who have lost earlier weight for reasons of specific body issues, employment, comfort, or other necessities.
Respect to the people who are still figuring things out, or who want to take things slow. Respect to those who want to combine exercise and strength adjustments. And respect to the people who know that this isn't a linear journey.
Got any tips for fattening up? I’ve been struggling hella
Grazing on carbs works (unintentionally 😆) for me, but IDK what your blood sugar or digestion is like, so I don't want to make dodgy suggestions. If you're struggling to gain weight because you get a bad reaction from overly processed stuff (many people get reflux, for example), then there is plenty of other stuff you can have which is also calorie-dense, eg
Dried fruit, nut butters (tahini is the business, especially with garlicky food), adding any type of bread into meals, whole yoghurt, coconut milk (eg curries, soups), salmon, adding wheat or rice pasta into meals, avocado, chickpeas, smoothies, olive oil on all sorts of stuff incl salad, etc
Maybe it's about modifying what you do like rather than going for big changes. Good luck!
