once again losing my mind a little bit over Dean calling him Castiel like once (i don't remember exactly how many times but i do know i can count them all on one hand) before calling him Cas for the first time. thinking about how Dean calling him Cas removed the part of his name that meant "of God." Dean pulled him away from divinity and towards humanity basically the first chance he got, and then Cas just kept falling and falling and how could he not? He wasn't of God anymore, he didn't have to listen to what Heaven wanted; he didn't have to be who they wanted him to be.
He could just be Cas.
