Experiments with Seli were usually fun. Sometimes, though, all went... wrong. Then things would turn either hilarious or a catastrophy.
Right now the witch had added... probably way too much of that glittering powder Cora found so very beautiful into the mix. Maaaaaybe because the Raven could not restist, she'd wanted a better view and... accidentially pushed Selena. The result was a whole cloud of glittering dust that tickled horribly in her nose, causing a sneezing-attack that seemed to last forever.
When she was finally done she felt dizzy..... and something felt very wrong. Looking down at herself she saw that her arms were covered... in the tiniest feathers! And NOT raven-feathers, for they were snow-white! Her arms seemed normal otherwise - if you ignored the claws on her fingers.
Shocked, she lifted her hands to touch her face. "Sel? What have you DONE?! What HAPPENED!?"
Charlotte sat in an exam room that had yellow walls and a false window with a hologram that matched what it looked like outside of the building. The sky was turning from a light blue to brilliant pinks and purples while the sun went down, the young redhead was very thankful that she couldn’t see the almost full moon from her seat, stomach already turning a bit, the less reminders the better.
Smoothing out her wine colored sundress, the redhead looked around anxiously. It was hard to stay at ease when she knew it was less than 48 hours until her body went through a full on metamorphosis, but maybe this visit with Selena Ashcroft would help. Heart racing at a mile a minute, the reporter rested her head against the wall nearest her, the cold surface actually helping relieve some stress. Closing her eyes tight Charlotte focused on the fact that after this doctor’s visit, she could go and have some fun helping to celebrate Cora’s 23 birthday with some new people. During their walk through the Spirit Realm, even if it didn’t last long, it was all that Cora could talk about and Charlotte couldn’t thank her friend enough for the distraction.
Selena entered the room a few minutes later. "I'm sorry for being late. Catnap ran a bit longer than I thought." She'd curled up in a sunny patch and slept for several hours. She'd intended to be up earlier than this, but with a bit of tea, she perked right up.
"I'm going to test your vitals first. Afterwards I'll check and see how your injuries are healing okay?"
Charlotte automatically perked up when Selena had walked in. Maybe the shifter would help ease her pre transformation fears even more so than Bran had already. She smiled genuinely at her fellow car but her voice was a bit shaky.
"It's no problem and do what you must. Thank you for helping me a few days ago."
She looked down sheepishly, not sure what to do or say from here. Remembering that Selena wanted to check her vitals, the Tiger straightened up a bit.
She smiled to the fellow feline and nodded. "You're welcome. Though thanks isn't necessary. You were in need of healing and I was able to provide it." Selena took the other's vitals quickly and then looked to see how the wounds were healing. She'd been able to remove the risk of infection and clean the wounds, but they still needed time to heal.
"Are you excited for the full moon?" She was. The rush of power was surging through her even now. Unlike many shifters, Selena wasn't compelled to shift with the moon. She just loved the power rush that came from it. Well, that and the rituals she did each month helped to add to the inviggoration.
She froze up a bit at that question and blinked a couple times while it processed.
"Uhm well to be honest, I'm really nervous..I'm already acting strangely, have been ever since I first woke up, but NOW, now I'm a bit to friendly around some people in particular and every time I see lights I just want to get up and chase them. Really not looking forward to how painful I imagine it could be..anything I can do about all that?!"
The poor girl was spluttering out question after question without meaning to. She wished she could be excited, but it was all to new for her.
Selena smiled and nodded. "You'll get used to it. I was born like this, though my first change happened at 13. Its more painful if you fight it. If you let the cat come to the forefront, its much easier and a smoother transformation. Also you're more likely to keep your humanoid mind."
With Sel, she'd been able to shift as she wished after that first time. That was the only time she had been forced to change during a full moon. "You'll slowly be able to keep from chasing lights and the like. You'll notice that more feline quirks become prevalent in your human form. Like for me, I love to lie in the sun and could sleep the day away like that. And amazing balance as well as improved nightvision."
"Is there anyway to NOT fight it? Anything I can do to prepare at all? I'm just a bit overwhelmed and really don't want to hurt anyone or anything."
Cold sweat formed on her forehead the more Charlotte spoke, but she was determined to get through this and learn as much as she could. Waves of panic were causing her eyes to shift from the beautiful blue they normally were to a bright amber color right before Selena's eyes.
"You just let it happen." Selena walked over to Charlotte and put a hand on her shoulder. Her green eyes shimmered with compassion. "Would it mayube help if you see what'll happen?"
Selena dabbed the other woman's forehead with a cool cloth. "You'll do fine. Its extremely freeing when you shift."
Her shoulders heaved a bit before she looked back at the Cat and forced a small smile. The compassion was much appreciated and it really did help, but the full moon was creeping ever closer and the Tiger inside Charlotte was starting to drive her crazy. The tiger wanted to jump up on every single surface she could find and hunt down the tiniest of things, any sort of light distracted her, even if just for a moment, and most of all, the cat wanted to run for miles.
“That might help actually, I mean if you are willing to show me anyway. Sorry! It’s just the nerves! I swear I’m not normally like this at all!”
Selena knew all about that. She still had the anxiety that filled her for days before the full moon. It was then that she and the cats within were the most on edge. Well except for when they were in heat. That made things interesting to say the least.
She stripped off her lab coat and the pantsuit she was wearing underneath it. Once she was bare, Selena looked to Charlotte and smiled. The brunette closed her eyes and willed the change to come over her. Bones crunched and changed. Her fingers changed tolarge pads, her face became rounded as a muzzle grew. A tail sprouted from her tailbone and within minutes, Selena was no longer human, she was a large white tiger.
Cora was patiently waiting outdoors while Dots got her checkup and introductions. The Raven had thought it best to grant her new friend some privacy – partly because she knew that otherwise she'd probably interrupt the two cats way too often. And besides she wanted Charlotte to feel safe to talk even about intimate, intimidating and inconvenient topics openly. Sure, they liked each other lots and more and Cora was sure they'd become great friends – maybe it was safe to say that they already were. But she was still a stranger and sure that Dots wasn't just wasn't feeling too comfortable about the thought of wearing stripes soon...
Of course this meant that the Raven had to while away the time somehow. She didn't sit on the chair in the floor for too long but soon found herself first walking up and down for a bit, then standing leaning against the wall, texting with her friend Regina - how she loved her mobile!
[Catdog - Sooo we're already heeeeeere. Dots is getting her own copy of „Going Tiger For Dummies“ atm And I'm boooooored. Will you be here soon?]
[Birdbrain - yes. I have an appointment to get the cubs checked. What do you think about dots?]
[Birdbrain - Let Sel know I'm on my way, the cubs are giving me issues and not wanting to get in the car.]
[Catdog - Oh, I LOVE her already. Making her blush and all flustered is FUN and she is SUCH a sweety. And I bet her and Bran will be an OFFICIAL thing before her second full moon ;)]
[Catdog – Need a help with em cubs? I could be over in a blink. Just standing here in the hall with nothing to do, anyway....]
[birdbrain - si si, please and thank you. These two are a handful today. must be the moon making them antsy]
[Catdog – I'll be right with you. Are there any failproof treats to bribe them with I should know of?]
[birdbrain - Carob sweets, money anything like that.]
The Raven lifted an eyebrow. Somehow offering money to kids for making them comply sounded... wrong to her, even though she could not really explain why this was worse than other methods of bribing. Maybe she didn't want them to turn into money-addicted materialists... But was an addiction to sweets that much better? She shrugged and typed:
[Catdog – We'll see what I come up with!]
With that she put the mobile away, knocked on the door and told her friends that she'd be with Reggie to help and back soon.
Not much later she appeared out of thin air almost right in front on the somewhat overtaxed Halfocelot with her two stubborn problems. „Hiii~!“ she greeted her friend enthusiastically, ignoring the kids on purpose for the time being – don't pay them attention and they might crave for it!
The dark haired Latina turned to look at Cora with a smile - she had been looking at the 12 year old twins that were sulking up at her petulantly. "Hola hola, Cora. Como estas?" She swung the van door open and leaned against it. "How is Dots doing, do you know?"
Cora hugged her friend, feeling the eyes of the young ones on her. Of course a woman popping out of thin air had poked their interest. They seemed to never tire of getting excited about that gift. „She's doing just fine. Sure, she is alls excited and antsy about her first transformation and all. But hey, she's with Sel, right? And.... they seem to get along quite well.“ Yes, she told her all this with the kids in mind, who were supposed to go see Selena for the same reason, after all.
She nodded. "Si si, You going to ride with us back to the museum?" She asked her friend, shooing the pups into the minivan. "I'll buy dinner if you two get in and don't complain." She told the wolf cubs.
„Yeah, sure!“ she agreed and climbed into the car, taking a seat, looking at the youngsters. ALMOST teens. „What IS there to complain about, anyway? The museum is EPIC, a powerful witch will answer your questions about shifting and you might get the chance to meet a TIGER here in L.A.!“ Tigers were super-rare. Most wildcats were, but Tigers especially. „That, and food! They have the bestest sundaes EVER!“ she added with a mischievous glint in her eyes. Regs had said 'dinner', NOT 'dessert'. The boy watched her with wariness, the girl's eyes went big. „So we will get icecream?“ She asked her, not Regs. „She never specified what kind of food, now did she?“ Cora shrugged, then smirkeed. „Your chance for a bargain!“ Oh sure, she WAS stirring them up against the denmother and all – but she already saw it would WORK. Cora would be the 'cool big sis' and they'd do whatever she suggested – and they wouldn't even realize that this would mean they'd do what Reggie wanted....
Kai flipped, changing from dolphin to man, bareassed as he climbed out of the water. Stretching, he turned and stopped, realizing he was naked as the day he was born, infront of a very pretty woman. "Ah.. Ahola!" He stammered.
As Cora stepped into the Sombre del Luna she felt quite a bit nervous. She wasn't here for tea or coffee. She was on her very own "witch hunt", hoping that the healer she'd heard so much about would be willing to help the 20 years old Corax who'd decided to take her explorations of the Realm to the next level...
She took a seat and scanned the room for the Ashcroft girl.
