hey, book, I'm curious. You don't have to answer, but how'd you get those scars over your eye?
i haven't really thought up a canon reason yet but i like to think sans once tried to do a spinning knife trick he thought was cool with a cheap knife, the trick failed and he accidentally hit his brother in the eye. Every time anything related to knifes is brought up papyrus does the thing in the image below and it instantly makes sans very insecure and regretful.

i gotta do something for simplatales birthday. yes i havent been posting a lot aside from the occasional rant and whatnot but i can assure you the blog is NOT DEAD!!!!! me and russ are both busy people and we wish you all a merry simplemas or something all i promise is that well have something out by the time the birthday rolls around, cant believe this au is already 2 years old!!1

I'll be as blunt as I can.
I quite frankly don't know what to do with Simpletale.
It's gotten really hard working on it. I'm honestly kind of disappointed with a lot of the ideas and gimmicks I made for the project, as well as things i said myself. But I don't want to leave you guys hanging, so I'll answer some questions that have been in circulation for a while.
Q: Is Simpletale cancelled?
A: NO. It's hard to put into words, but I've never felt the urge to abandon this project. I've neglected it before sure, but burying this project for good would simply be another passion buried and gone, and I've lost a too many passions in the last year or so.
Q: So then what is the plan?
A: I honestly can't give you a straight answer. But if I find the motivation to, I'm thinking of rebooting this project and remaking it with my skills improved.
Q: In the meantime, what will happen to this account?
A: I don't want to leave you guys hanging. So from now on and until I motivate myself, this account will be used as an outlet for me to talk about my personal projects, and not AU's like Simpletale. What Russ wants to do with their share of the account is entirely up to them, but seeing as I am the main owner of this account. I felt it would be appropriate to announce my plans for this accont.

question: If we wanted to make our own simpletale/verse designs what are some rules/guidelines that need to be followed?
if your going by undertale standards. -sans. ALWAYS. has a circular head, NO exceptions, his face can be different, sure, hell, you could even somewhat change the shape of his head, but its ALWAYS a somewhat round or circular shape
swapsimple sans head breaks the circle logic, but its still somewhat ROUND! so in conclusion, keep it round and simple! -use beta/concept art elements, or just generally what the original creator of whatever your parodying made before getting a clear idea of what he was making, and apply it to your characters! (yes, this applies to the personalities too, but dont follow it too strictly! try to be a bit original!)
try to exaggerate the design a bit to make em more funny lookin
LIKE LONG ASS TEETH!!! now for some non-undertale specific bits if your using an au or story that doesnt really have beta elements, try to simplify the concept then make a new story from scratch. like simplekiller is simplified from "oh sans makes a deal with the human and then kills people to experience something more" to "oh sans works for the human ig", then let your brain spin and make your own story from this simplified bit. it can be a long story as long as the base for the story is made from a simplified story!!!
do all simpletale based stories have to be dumb/silly? NO! they dont have to be. but there should at least be some characters or plotlines that have a more goofy aura, not to spoil anything. but simpletale WILL HAVE DARK MOMENTS!!! in conclusion, dont let the story take itself too seriously, fuck around! can i make simpletale AU's of non-undertale content? YES! i encourage making simpletale versions of other franchises then undertale, do you want to make a simpletale version of star wars? GO WILD! BE FREE! DO IT! i LOVE seeing fanart and fan creations of simpletale. and i encourage you to play around with more content then just undertale. have fun!
