Respect is not paying for my dinner or holding the door open. Respect is believing that I, and every single other human, is deserving of full personhood. Respect is not flowers or gifts, it’s listening when a woman says "no". Respect is when a professor asks if a woman can be a leader, you raise your hand to say “yes”. Respect is not being one of the “good ones” or simply “not raping”, respect is standing next to us, admitting that you’ve been wrong and that you realize the world is a lot harder for people who don’t look like you.
