A list of affordable #makeup brands for my starter #femsubs: - Nyx: Usually my first recommendation, has been a staple in my makeup kit for *decades* - Wet n' Wild: A cult classic that got a revival after ELF's disaster marketing campaign, if you miss 2010's duochromes start here! - Kaleidos cosmetics: an indie beauty brand that is good for bold metallic colors - Milani: A highly underrated brand that has also been in my kit for decades. - E.L.F.: Was a staple for me but I don't default to them anymore after the whole marketing debacle. If it's all you can access it'll work. - Maybelline: The $7 waterproof mascara in the pink tube is the only mascara you will ever need. - No7: Perfect for my UK subs, & for everyone their Pro Artist Loose Setting Powder is a dupe for Laura Mercer's talc free formula (and is about 1/3 the price). - Catrice: A drugstore brand that has good eye products! - KimChi Chic: The lipsticks are affordable, nondrying, & come in an insane variety of colors - Colourpop: I specifically love the eyeshadow sticks & glitter gels. - Essence cosmetics: another solid brand that is often available in drugstores - LA Colors: a widely available brand that is often found in dollar stores, making it perfect for femme finsubs - Miss A: An online cosmetics retailer that also has a dollar store price point. i've not ordered from here, but they are consistently reviewed highly. - Ulta's Store brand: If you live near an ulta and can shop in store, their labeled brand is actually pretty decent. - Pixi: They make consistently good products overall! Affordable brands I don't actually like: - L'oreal: Honestly this one is fine, I just find the products don't work well with my skin type and so I default to other brands. - Rimmel: TBH they make dependable products for most people, but they also don't work with my skin type so they don't rate highly for me. - Morphe: I tried & did not like. The brushes constantly left hairs in my makeup, the blushes were gritty, & the eye pallets went moldy on me. - SheGlam & other Shein/Temu style brands: Because of their other shady business practices, I don't trust the makeup to be safe. - JCat: It has consistently mediocre reviews. - Makeup Revolution/Revolution: I wanted to like it, but the products consistently performed low for me. As always take recommendations with a grain of salt, because what works on me might not work on you! Some brands may not be available everywhere, in absence of my advice use what is highly reviewed in your local area <3
