Creation of a vessel

The avvar had been standing in the rotunda for a good 15 minutes. Simply staring at the wall and it’s paintings. She was holding what appeared to be a large bag filled to the brim with parchment. Pages and information she copied down from books in the library, from her mothers grimmoire. A great deal were simply illustrations and drawings that pertained to that damned sphere. Maybe not that exact sphere, but the foci, or somnisomethings. Mentioned in old texts from Tevinter, recorded in paintings, even in Ferelden. Not that she was really certain that it was a foci, but people dragging around orbs were, fairly rare? It could have been a crystal or something, but that was something she’d never know.

Not long ago she had been by what she believed to be a chantry somewhere. Leliana had brought her along. It was rather amusing since Leliana is a smooth stealthy woman, and well, Eluned simply wasn’t. So she knew she was there for muscle and to simply annoy the chantry sisters. What struck her were some ornamental pieces around the place. Glass-stained windows portraying some really magical and odd stuff. The one that stood out to her, was a depiction of a man with a staff, probably a mage, holding an orb. It was too dark to tell if that was one of the foci thing, but it certainly would explain a lot if it was? Of course, she made no mention of the observation, since the Chantry sisters already seemed hellbent on talking her into their religion.

So that was where the idea had stemmed from. She was going to make one. She didn’t know how, or even if it was remotely safe. But it never hurt to have a solid plan b. Should the inquisitor perish by illness or war, they needed something to meet Corypheus with, and if it was not the anchored inquisitor, it would have to be something else he never expected.

Eluned shifted from foot to foot, standing there, waiting for Solas to show up. She was going to ask him about it. Not the foci really. He said once he’d gladly come along to help her. Sure it wasn’t about the same thing, but he was a friend. Hearing footsteps, soft silent ones, she turned to see if it was him.

Acquisition of knowledge

Her leg was fine by then. The healer who had taken care of her had done some hard-work on her. Least she wasn’t limping around the place anymore. The avvar didn’t really know how to deal with it. Most people left her alone cause they didn’t know what to make of her. Some, things, not even sure if they were people or spirits were trying to make contact with her or simply gawked at her.

At the moment she was in what had to be a library. Books from wall to wall. Floor to ceiling. Stacked nicely in shelves. People were reading in outmost silence. In turn, she tried to be as quiet as possible as she looked for anything that was familiar to her. She didn’t understand this language so she was hoping to find a dictionary? or some clear references in languages that would give her a clue.

There was really, nothing there. Though, determined as she always was, she took a book out of the shelf. There had to be way. It wasn’t like spirits could connect to her like they had with her mother. Sadly. bowing some dust from the covers she opened it, and just saw pages strewn with unknown writing and strange letters. Maybe she could ask that man who had found her? He spoke to her through her head. Which was very very creepy, and not the least bit re-assuring, but at least there was a chance of her learning the language. But where was he? he was not an easy person to find, unless he wanted to be found.

Friends of old

There was a lot of events that had been leading up to that moment. It had brought a few nervous guardsmen to Skyhold. One whom was an elf. With them a heavy chariot that they somehow had managed to get up the difficult roads of the mountain.  It had been pulled by a bronto. They were trying to get a hold of the ‘Hahren’ whom knew elvish. At first they had contacted a local keeper upon finding the woman. The keeper, did not understand her.  The way she spoke was an unknown accent, it flooded from her tongue like a melody. They didn’t understand the words. Despite all of this, she had protected some elves whom had strayed into the forest, and that was how they came upon her to begin with. Deep within a cave in the Emerald Graves.

The Keeper had felt uncertain on what she was. Possessed, a spirit, clearly not really an elf. She was too tall. And she held herself in a poised regal manner. There was nothing about her that screamed Dalish, but more that fit City, aside the language.  The very same night, a decision had been made. That she had to be given to the Inquisition. They knew one there spoke elven, quite well. Practically a scholar. One could almost believe he lived through it, but he was a dreamer, and dreamers could do incredible things. Learn the most amazing subjects, and have a horizon unlike anyone simply grounded in the world of the living. There was also the fact that she seemed to show up just as Corypheus and his army seemed to march for power. So there was a concern there,

The young elf-scout was begging the guards to let them in, and after a few minutes of convincing and allowing them to peer in through a small window of the wagon, they allowed them inside.

“-Please ser, I need’a wor’ with the inquisitor, or Solas. It is important.” His pale hands gripped a hold of the guard’s sleeve. Throwing a nervous glance to the wagon. “Please.” It wasn’t fear that shook his voice, it was the nervousness of not really knowing what the woman was that shook him.   The guard cocked a brow in surprise. It wasn’t uncommon for people to wish to see the inquisitor. It was however unusual to ask for Solas.

“-Aye, I can get you Solas, I am afraid the Inquisitor is pre-occupied at the moment.” The young elf nodded nervously, huddling deeper into his cloak.  At any time, she could wake, and he was scared to think what could happen. They had travelled for days straight and were in dire need of rest and to rid of their consignment.  With that the guard left to find the scholar. Surely he was where he always was. In the Rotunda.

Meanwhile, the woman in the wagon started to stir. Whatthey had given her to slumber was wearing off and she did not seem happy. There were loud knocks against the wall and shouting in elvhen.

“Let me out you beasts! I assisted your friends in need!”

The sun was slowly starting to tilt down over the horizon. Going on word by mouth, he was looking for the inquisition. They were, as far as he knew, the only structured organisation working against the evil. He used the word structured and organisation very loosely. They were barely on their feet from what he could gather. But he was old, and sleepy. They seemed to be as concerned about the Red Lyrium as he was however.

In the distance he could see a camp. The fireplace was burning, there were guards. That sword, eye and sun symbol was drawn into a offwhite flag that was staked into the ground. They had probably seen him by then. He was by no means invisible. He just happened to blend in a little more into things than others.

Tall, broad, with a compact muscled build, a beard and brown curled hair. He was very, noticeable. 

But how did you go about joining?

You couldn’t simply walk up and go: Hi, I want to be your ally? Could you?  It was too late to really think that through, so he just stopped, squinted against the crowd and asked.

“Are you the inquisition?”

It had been a fierce sparring session. But Ayane had won. The result was that both were covered from head to toe in purple paint. This of course was not a problem. Not a problem at all. The problem was her clothing, and the paint. How to get it off. There was only one person she knew she could ask, which was Solas.

Of course she would not pass up the chance to hug him like this either. Finding him in the rotunda as usual. Quietly studying some books. So  many books...The man had to do something else than books or he’d go insane soon

“Solasss!”

Smiling from ear to ear, she ran for him, attempting to embrace him in a big hug.

“Hi! Have not seen you in quite some time. You smell weird”

♟ - my muse obeysThis answer is simple. No one. If anyone wishes to chain this fox you may as well just try to kill him. He is about one of the hardest people to control. He will do as he will. Even with the Inquisitor, if it went too far from his morals he wouldn’t do it. Tavis would do nothing that conflicted with his values. He may take a step back and re-evaluate his stance. But never ever will Tavis follow orders he does not agree with. No one controls him.That being said. He follows @kaaras-adaar willingly. If Kaaras asked Tavis to do something in which he did not agree with though, he would defy it, question it and not involve himself if it conflicted too much. As he does any brand of authority he disagrees with. It is simply Tavis’ way. (Luckily they seem to agree on most things and Kaaras is wonderful.)Hell he drove his Keeper nuts with this defiance of authority. And as a kid he was even worse. Tavis constantly questioned the structure of the clan, their beliefs, their views (especially in his teens). Examples of da’harellan-isms:“Why would some omnipotent wolf try to trick us? That is idiotic. I doubt he even cares.”“Why are we wasting time with absent gods when we are doing all the work?”“So we are just going to sit on our asses and survive Hahren? That’s boring. How about we all join up and retake the Dales and Halamshiral.”Lets just say; he didn’t do very well as a Dalish kid haha.

☯ - acts as a foil to my muse Hmm if someone used leverage against him that consisted of them threatening his loved ones. That is his soft spot. Also it would be difficult but if you could break down his confidence he would be more vulnerable. That is nearly impossible to do though. He is really really good at acting indifferent when he is feeling even a bit emotional. It even takes a lot to make him overly emotional anyway. You would have to be a damn chessmaster manipulator to be honest.

☑ - my muse wants to know better@magexkiller He is so curious about her. She confuses him even though she seems blunt. There is something there behind the surface he almost sees and really really wants to figure out. Tavis loves observing the tiny little details she gives him and picking at them. Trying to place the puzzle pieces together. But he doesn’t mind waiting. He likes the game of trying to understand her. After all, that is the most fun part for him. When he is around her his mind is stimulated. He loves a mystery. Lia is a mystery to him. Truly he doesn’t actually want to figure her out entirely.@elfrootemporium He already thinks Imogen is just wonderful. He wants to laugh with her, play games, do crafts. She is full of life and stories. Tavis adores people like her. Just loves them. He will probably want to hear ALL of the stories and craft things with her. No dog dresses though. He doesn’t want to craft those ;)

✗ - my muse likes to pick arguments / fights withHe doesn’t like to do those things. Generally Tavis does not use violence. But… if you threaten his loved ones. Prepare for an interesting ride… thrown against the wall… or punched in the face. Depending on the threat… possibly stabbed. All of that though… the threat would have to  be very bad.

☊ - keeps my muse grounded or my muse keeps groundedKeeps Tavis grounded: Sahlin and Sadris. Although Solas makes him feel this way as well.Keeps them grounded: Sahlin I suppose. I’m not sure about the rest really. They would have to tell me.

(To be fair though, I don’t think he’d be a loud crier. That kind of choked in the throat silent type that rarely has tears with it. It hurts and he doesn’t understand))
