i've been going through your blog all morning and realized that i've been making a huge mistake in identifying as Tainx the past few years in my efforts to find some degree of reconnection. your blog is very informative. i was so miseducated (and still am, but am now more than willing to learn about the very real and alive Tainx culture). thank you so much for your blog and for your words and defense of your culture. I hope to be able to make the reconnection some day in good time.

Don’t blame yourself for something that’s not your fault, though: it’s not like you had bad intentions, unlike some folks who continue do so despite knowing better!

Quick note however, the final vowel in Taino does not change. In the language, it is not a grammatically gendered word, and it is already plural.

I don't think Taylor swift was appropriating black culture in that video. It seems like she was showing different dance styles and hiphop was one of them.

ok but you see the white ballerina's faces most of the time they're on screen and you only see the black women's faces for about 2 seconds before it's literally just their asses. and she was mimicking "hip hop" gesturing aka black hip hop gesturing and most of her hip hop crew was white people?? like it could have been a cute video if not for the way certain things were displayed ://
