absolutely! all those van gogh’s quotes you can see on tumblr are basically taken from his letters and i have always been interested in van gogh as an artist and person and also adored relationships vincent had with his brother so i was very determined to read all of his letters to theo. now i can say that it’s even better than i expected! not only you get to know about van gogh’s life and emergence as an artist, but also people he used to know, books he read and music he listened to, artists he admired and followed. i would even say he was a philosopher in some way, or at lest an amazing writer. the way he feels people, nature and life is just as genuine and amazing as his art.
