Oh Fernando's. How I've missed you :).
"What am I most proud of about the furry fandom? Other than just the fandom itself. Other than the wonderful people we have in it; the creative people we have in it. Currently what I'm most proud of would be what the fandom did for Fernando DeCarvalho here in Pittsburg. A furry friendly business. Everybody loves Fernando; fernando loves us. When he hit financial hard times he was quite a ways in debt. I put the call out pretty much hoping that we would raise a couple thousand dollars just to help him get along. About the time that we had raised $4,000 I started preparing a nice little announcement, "gee, we raised $4,000." By the time I had finished the announcement it was $10,000. So I went back and was editing the announcement "Oh no it was not four." Now it's finished and we have $15,000, and I'm like, "I'm just gonna shut up and let it go."...23,000 some dollars later...Unfortunately the landlord was not swayed so he's not gonna let Fernando's cafe continue, but the landlord was sufficiently impressed that he allowed Fernando to remain in business up till Anthrocon. So at least he could spend one more Anthrocon with us." ~Uncle Kage (2012)
