if I was lenu I would feel guilty about reading lila's journals for the rest of my life. like i would not be able to not confess to her that i did that. and the fact that lila never knows haunts the rest of the series for me idk. like i feel like lila would eventually forgive her if she knew but it's such an invasion of privacy and a breach of trust!!! i could never look at someone the same way if i knew they had read my journals like that

edit: actually nvm the whole neapolitan novels' series should be in the dark academia canon!! it deals with the oppressive nature of the education system and focuses specifically on its effects on the friendship of 2 gifted working-class girls!!

im currently taking a class on Elena Ferrante’s Neapolitan Quartet and we’re up to the second book. The class and I have established that we are anti-Nino and total ENZO SCANNO stans. Also, we’ve argued that the girls’ friendship is highkey toxic.

14.3.18// today I ended my essay on female genius in Elena Ferrante´s “My brilliant friend”. I´ve been writing and rewriting it for the past three days and I’ve been working from 10 am till 9 pm in the library. Not that I didn’t know what to write but the more you know about the topic the hardest it will be, to sum all up. Studying in the Grimm Library among fellow students that are just desperate as I am (how ugly ist this photo btw)
