Vin at the beginning of the story. He still has his old uniform and his manbun needs to grow a bit more still.

Fey isn´t that fond of him in the beginning, but after a while sees him as another big brother. (And fellow science nerd)

The halberd is designed less like the ones used by the switzer gard, but more like the ones depicted in old drawings. They seemed more practical to me (but I am no expert so correct me if I got this wrong).

Also, I couldn´t resist having Vin call little Fey by some cheesy name. When he looks at her the first time, he sees a lost puppy that needs to be protected.
