Had a meeting with my advisor yesterday, in which she asked me if I would take her and her husband to Chicano Park
She said, I bet he would love the lowriders
Tonight, I was talking to some friends about going to Chicano Park this weekend
Drafted an email to invite her and pressed send seconds before I heard news that her husband had passed
I'm feeling some type of way right now...

We met a few years ago at a conference and have followed each other on IG since and she’s just the type of person I wanna feature
She’s got a running substack thread about not getting an MFA. Her poems are so good I thought she had one
One of the words I chose for my sestina is “trans” cause I was like well it’s a poem for a trans person but then I was like fuck is that too on the nose but then trans is a root word so I can use so many words it’s such a good word for a sestina 😂
Going through an MFA program just made me never wanna express myself to anyone ever again lmfao
Not that it matters. I just think it’s funny that last year around this time costar kept saying my best friend and I were in conflict…and we kept butting heads for so long. And this year everything between us on costar is in harmony and we are actually doing great rn. Astrology & shit. That’s accurate
