"Of the Dragon's Heart"

Born into a Troian lineage descended of the long lost Light Elves, and blessed by the holy dragons of eld, Lynn Dragonsheart is raised and formed in the expectation of becoming a stalwart protector of the Land of Troia.

Her mother, a lady dragoon who yearns for revolution, forms Lynn in the art of the spear with hopes that her, her dragon and her daughters might rise up in Troia's defense, and eventually, dare to strike at her rivals. This earns her the disdain of the Epopts, and as Lynn grows and the young maiden showcases a gift in white and black magic both, the relationship between the two becomes strained.

The years pass by, and when the monster attacks plague Troia, and the two powerful mages sent from Mysidia arrive to train Troian forces, Lynn becomes determined in mastering her gift, despite her mother's constant belittlement.

As it is written in the history of their name, seven dragons are to descend from the heavens when a daughter of their house becomes of 14 years of age; the dragons would gaze at her and weigh the desire of her heart. Should it be ill-intended, the seven would take to the skies anew, but should it be worthy, the dragon who chooses her would bow its head and spread its wings. If Lynn was not chosen, her mother would strip her of her name.

When Riven, a butterfly-like winged dragon bows at the girl who would not be a lady dragoon, the mother becomes enraged, and Lynn, honored with wonder.

Even as her mother does not become proud, Lynn makes her choice: she would take to the skies upon Riven's back, and she would continue to grow in all respects, until her gifts can be used in service of those in need. As she hears of Baron, a Kingdom rich in knowledge and strength, she soars towards it, unaware of the journey and the bonds that await her.

Since we're entering the holiday season, and not entirely focused on the topic, here's a formal Lyra I drew a few months ago.

The dress design belongs to @keeperofthecrystals I loved all the designs she created for my OC, I hope you don't mind if I draw them in the future! ❤️

Another ArtTrade, but this time for OCs, drawing Lynn from @itispowpow There were some setbacks, but finally, here it is finished since yesterday!

The Passing of Time

Like most of the drawings I've uploaded this month, these have also been in the works for a while…but this time I felt a bit embarrassed about uploading these sketches of Kain and Lyra…

So in case anyone has doubts! Here is the ages and stage context according to the chronology of this stack of images:

First - Kain (16), Lyra (8); The Baron Trio visits Tasan before its extinction. They were just acquaintances, for Lyra she had a strong friendly affection towards Kain as she had with Cecil and Rosa, but he felt self-conscious about reciprocating that to her.

Second - Kain (22), Lyra (14); Post-FFIV Interlude. Kain is still on Mt. Ordeals and Lyra has regained her memories, determined to live in Baron next to the Harvey family.

Third - Kain (38), Lyra (30), from here on, the ages remain unchanged; TAY - Ceodore's tale. They have just left Baron's castle, with Lyra joining Ceodore and "Hooded Man's" party.

Fourth - Confrontation with Dark Kain after he kidnapping Rosa.

Fifth - Post-TAY. During the end of the story, Lyra begins to see Kain with different eyes, unlike a few years ago, Kain is more open in relating to her after the adventure to save Blue Planet again, but he does not know about Lyra's feelings towards him.
