knight iwaizumi never intended to carry out his duty of killing demon king oikawa. the only thing he truly swore loyalty to was protecting his 6 year old half-demon best friend was who shunned and banished from the kingdom for being a fiend. becoming a knight was a way to ensure that he could move up in ranks and gain power, so that when the day that the world wanted to finally eradicate demon oikawa came, he had the ability to protect him. iwaizumi’s duty (personally and selfishly so) was to be tooru’s shield.
